Bush said what?
| Sun, 01-23-2005 - 10:41am |
I was drifting off to sleep watching a Bush inaugural speech, of course...Then he said something at the end that perked my ears.....Did he say "Liberty for all Americans"?
He is such a liar! How can he stand there and say all Americans, when he is soon going to exclude us by changing the constitution. Are we not Americans as well? I believe he should have said "Liberty for all Americans homosexual exceptions apply". Or maybe "Liberty for all non-homosexual Americans". Does anyone out there in straight land not get what he is going to do?
Did any one else listen to his speech, who was not falling asleep? Totally dismayed!

just as Martin Luther King was able to do so during the Civil Rights movement. If you really study this man, you will see that his vocabulary was well above that of the people he was speaking too. He dressed in a business suit, he was professional, and he spoke out for his people and many Americans were changed by him. My own father, was a racist, and told steel mill jokes daily; he was so impressed by Martin Luther Kings demeanor, that he made me sit down to watch his speech, and referred to him as the greatest man in American history. If Martin Luther King had dressed himself and behaved as we do in the parades; I would say that the civil rights movement would probably be still here, just like we are still fighting for our rights. Additionally, if he had dressed and behaved that way, his following would not have been so great even with his own people. Thus the point that we are trying to make here.

I especially like that as I am an avid follower of MLK. Thank you for posting that!

Didn't Hitler's genocide of Jews begin with a few seemingly benign laws restricting the civil liberties of Jews? I'm not suggesting it's going be genocide, but we are on the slippery slope.
Just as slavery started with a few Kings and Queens of Africa selling lower "caste" men, women and children not only to the white man, but to peoples of their own color. The slippery slope is most definitely an apt description.

I'm right behind you Laurie. I think that post needs a recognition fest from this side of the American streets.

I think Nony was tempted to do the very same thing, lafaye. I was here in the study doing some school work and I could hear her ranting at the TV from the other room.
Despie not being American, I find myself very much affected by the things going on in American politics etc. Especially since us Brits are well and truly embroiled in the Middle Eastern mess alongside you guys. I agree with every last sentiment in your post - and those of the other fine ladies of this board. Bush has to be amongst the least respected people on the planet. I can't quite get over the fact that half of the American population can't see that.
Can you believe Bushhead now has Iran in his sights?!!!!

I think it is something people really need to look at and take seriously.
I am sure if someone like me would go out and start saying these things people would take me for a fool.
They are dumb as cattle, just plodding along with the rest of the heard.
So many people do not think history is important and it bores so many people.
This is why so many people repeat some of the same idiotic mistakes.
Bush has made a mess out of IRAQ and he's talking about Iran?
Apparently his problem is with Muslim's and gay's because we do not fit his Christian mold. He is doing things to much the same as Hitler did when he started out. Invading countries and taking away human rights from people he deems as beneath him and his beliefs.
The churches follow him. These are the people who preach, love thy neighbor as thy self, and do not judge or you will also be judged, forgive, etc, yet, they behave far worse then they think we do. They think they are so above everyone else and deserve to tell other's how to live or die.
According to the Christian Bible, Jesus said to spread the word, but if the people do not want to receive it then shake the dust from your feet and move on. They are not supposed to force it on people. And now we know why. Do they really think this will bring people running to church? Just like they said the Iraq people would welcome us with flowers. Lol!
Somehow these people have lost their minds and I don't think this is of God.
How can he say freedom for all when he only means people who believe what he believes.
I can only wonder at how he was re-elected. Unless the churches went on a voting frenzy.
The frightening thing is, there are people who really do believe that they have the God given right to condemn other's for the way they live or believe.
Sorry for the rant, this get's to me very deeply.
Hugs all,

Yes, I can loubie, and thank you for posting. We love opinions from people on the other side of this mess.
He put his sights on Saddam after 911 when he should have been taken care of during Desert Storm. So, this does not surprise me.
Thanks for posting!
