Dreading the 4th

I'm not posting this for a response like...Happy Birthday. Really I'm not. But, I dread my birthday so bad. My birthday always feels lonely. Does anyone else feel that way on their birthday? Or, am I just weird?

Of course, then you have like family to call and ask..."How was your birthday?" or "What did you do?" Or, you have coworkers ask the same thing. And, I find it hard to come up with something that sounds at least decent.

I'm thinking about seeing a movie. Probably on Saturday though. The new Will Smith movie. See, that goes to show you how much time I've put into knowing about his movie- I don't even know the name. I'll be going by myself. I'm wondering if I should just wait until after I'm over the hill to attend movies by myself...(like the next day)

I could always go out to eat by myself... That's okay...I've done that before...

I should stop dreading the 4th. I'll probably do the same old thing...go to the Y, workout, and sit in the sauna. Except on the 4th, I can sweat thinking about what it is like to be 34 and celibate.

Hey, at least I'm not blowing chunks anymore. As a matter of a fact, my appetite is back, and I wouldn't mind having a slice of chocolate pie. M'mmmm

Good night!

Bug,
I hate to one up you here, but I will be 45 on the 11th.
So happy birthday kiddo!
It really isn't so bad.
I am going to go to the river boat to throw some money away. Why not I just threw a good bit away on the horses today. I might as well finish it off...Is there a board for this kind of thing?!
Birthday hugs and kisses my fellow fishie!

Hey lil Bug ~

I remember feeling the VERY same way when my birthday (and other such occasions) would roll around. Even when in prior relationships, I felt alone...in fact, I thought it felt worse at the time, as I didn't expect to feel that way. Kinda taught me that being on my own was actually better for me than being

Hey Bug. I hope your birthday turned out better than you feared. I try to remember that reaching another birthday is always better than not! LOL! And you really can't claim that AARP membership yet, hon! Belated birthday wishes to you -- hope you had a great day!

Hey Lou!

Great advice from a great person! Thanks. Being in a relationship, yet feeling alone is worse in my book.

You know Jules, it turned out to be a great birthday. I had some out of town friends to come and visit me. We saw a movie and ate out. Kim and Court are the best!
