I think one of the women in our Wednesday night social group was just hired by my organization, and her office is on my hall. I recognize her from the dance on Saturday night. She hasn't been at the weekly meetings since we joined, but I think she's the same person I saw Saturday night. Hmmmm...

I would like to figure out a way to ask if she's the same person, but maybe I'll just wait to attend a Wednesday night meeting and hope she's there or ask one of the other members her name. I think there's one other family member who was hired with this woman.

That would be SO cool!

Ting,

It's nice to have co-workers that are gay! There is this elderly lady who is gay where I work. I really wasn't sure until last Wed. night. I was at our local gay bar and she goes waltzing by me. We smiled at each other and that was it. So it's nice knowing, except, with my J.O.B., I hope I never have to find something on her, as it would be most awkward sitting in an interview and have her spill the beans on me. I pray nothing like that will ever happen! She's a sweet person....I'm just not allowed to trust anyone. That's the hazard of my position. I think there is one other co-worker like me, and I'm staying quiet about everything. Hopefully, I will be out of that position really soon!

I'm glad that you have an opportunity to get to know people without worrying about your position! Sounds like you and Caly are really fitting into that community well. Very interesting stuff Ting!

I sure hope so Pam,

Sure would hate to take her out in hand cuffs as well. Hopefully, she's not that type of person. You can never tell for sure with people. Like I said, I'm not allowed to trust anyone, and I always tell people, I get to watch you, so you watch me! If you see me do anything stupid, please report me! I like to keep things on a two way street.

There was a time where I believed there was this unwritten code between Lesbians, and that no matter what, you never screw with a persons career, or job situation. When my girl friend broke up with me, the girl she left me for, showed up at my work place to threaten me....She had no idea how much money I put into our home, and that she was putting a mom and two children out in the streets. Now she knows the truth and were friends. Only her little escapade at my work place cost me dearly, as I was looking to get promoted, and the owner walked by the two of us when she threatened me. I'm a forgiving person, and were friends now. lol, but, I now know that you never know what people will do under stress....

thanks for the input...this sounds like it might be a good discussion to pursue, proper lesbian ettiquette......hmmmm

My Division Director (boss) is gay. She is a sweet heart. Her other half is always calling or stopping by. They have a five year old boy togetber & a ten year old that they got from Russia (I think). But her being my boss I would never say anything to her about myself. But I think she may knows - because she treats me different then the other girls in the office. I don't know maybe one day (if I get a new job) I'll talk to her about it.

Hope everything stay's okay for you at work.

LOL,
Angel

These situations can be sticky for sure. I haven't come out to anybody at work and at this point would only feel comfortable coming out to family. If this is the woman I'm thinking I've seen before, we will be seeing a lot of each other at social gatherings, so inevitably she will find out. (I actually dreamed last night that I saw her and her partner in Kohl's and realized she was the person I'd seen before! LOL)

I know that the gay/lesbian community is pretty close knit, and I do get a sense that people watch each other's backs. But, people are people no matter what their orientation is, so I don't take anything for granted when I'm in a vulnerable situation.

Hugs,

I think it's a mistake to believe there is an unwritten code.

Isn't it so sad that things are the way they are sometimes! I so totally understand the age difference. My children live in a world where it's totally acceptable for them to say they are Bi sexual, and in my days, you never wanted to breath that word, and the older gay professors at my university were extremely conservative and would never admit that they were Lesbians, and we all knew they were! There was no doubt in the world, that they would take all secrets to their grave! Funny how generations change....To tell you the truth, I don't know if she is older or younger than me. The last person I thought was older, was five years younger than me....I get so confused sometimes...lol

Thanks Danglewash,

Things are fine there for now....I really don't like the part where I catch the bad guys. Turns my stomach when people do illegal things. I don't know how they can face their families when they go home at night.

Ting,

I like when I dream of other Lesbians....I woke up the other morning dreaming that I was playing basketball against one of my clients. There was a lot of pushing and joking going on, and I had fun! Some day we will get to have that match! I really am glad for you and Caly finding your groove! It's so sweet and lets us all know that there are wonderful things to share with people that you love.
