When I moved to the north island in February 2003, I weighed in at 110 kgs which converts to about 242 pounds. I went to see a surgeon about a breast reduction and he told me I was on the waiting list but was unlikely to get any surgery until I got my weight under 100kgs (220 pounds). I did change my diet and I was cycling 10kms and walking 2-5 most days but wasnt really noticing any weight loss. Well, since having gallstones and having to be very very careful about what I eat, and having a high energy job on top of that, I now weigh in at 85 kgs (187 pounds)- which is still overweight but hey, a darn site better than I was!! I dont have any clothes that fit me, I could camp in most of them!
So if anyone here is trying to lose weight and feeling like they are getting nowhere, I have to tell you that it is a real commitment to diet- not just going on a diet but a whole lifestyle change in the way you eat- and dont believe the bollocks about 30mins exercise a day being all you need- its more like 4 hours!

My only question is why on earth would anyone want a breast reduction?LOL*wink*

Congratulations on the weight loss. I understand about the commitment to diet and exercise. I exercise most days of the week and doing this for many years.
Yes, you will have more energy after your weight loss. But a side benefit is your greater self esteem.
Cool beans Ven!

Wow, Ven, that is so wonderful! You are right, diet and exercise is what it takes, along with the commitment to make it part of your lifestyle.
You're an inspiration!
Hugs,
I worked my way thru 1/2 of those small cartons of Ben & Jerry's Phish Food ice cream last night.

Ahhhhhhh...gbud.. I wish I could get myself just into 1 day of exercising..LOL..... I have slacked so way way off in past few years...... Good for you!*Smiles...
P.S.
Did you find that in the healthy snack section of your freezer? LOLLOL!!!
I ate a half gallon of chocolate ice cream in under 24 hours yesterday....Jen asked what happened to the ice cream and I just didn't know what to say - the dogs ate it?
Here's my diet:
Breakfast of Champions, coffee and cigarette.
Lunch, subway anyone?
Dinner, if someone cooks it. Doubtful.
No wonder I ate all that ice cream, I am starving to death!
