I want to wish a Happy Mother's Day to all the women out there who post here on this board who have a child. I want to also include any women who only lurk. And, I want to include those women who may not have a child, but have been an inspiration or great mentor when someone needed it.
All of you are very special in your own way. You make great sacrifices to meet the needs of your child. You lay awake at night hoping you've made the right decisions for them. You do without to give them what you know they need or want. You cry when your child cries. You laugh when you hear their laughter. You yearn to see the best for them always. If you think that you've made a not so right decision, you make sure to remind yourself of it probably more than you should. You are a mom.
But, it doesn't take childbirth to make you a mom. Sometimes all it takes is an open heart and caring spirit. You take in the lost. You are the mentor. You inspire. You may not know it. You may never witness it. But, your kindness may have been the pillow for someone's sore spirit. Your willingness to listen may have planted a seed of good will and positive energy, which changes the direction of a head on mistake. You too are a mom.
Happy Mother's Day!
Sincerely,
buggie

That was really touching. I also hope everyone had a wonderful Mothers' Day. It's always a depressing time for me. When you have a father or father's of children like I do - you don't expect much. My children are never even home on Mother's day. They wouldn't be back until it's time for them to go to bed - It seems like this happens every single year.
Mother's Day to me is just another day. I get my joy's from seeing the smiles on the kids faces everyday. I really celebrate it for my mother's sake.

That was lovely, Bug! Your words reminded me of several ladies in addition to my own mother who have been motherly figures to me in one way or another, and I feel honored to have them in my life.
Hugs,
Nicely said Buggie! *SMILE*
Happy belated Mother's Day to all the moms on the board. I hope you had a great day like my mom, sis and sis's mother-in-law did. Can you guess who I spent my sunday with? *L*
Next year, you should keep the kids with you instead of letting go out and play as usual. Let them see how you treat your mom on Mother's Day so they learn from you how mother's day should be spent. Keep doing it till it gets through their brain mom's day is for treating mom like a queen. *SMILE*
I really cannot complain. They treat me like a queen everyday. I get more kisses, hugs and I love you's then I can count. I'm just glad to have them in my life - I would say they're what makes me feel whole.
LOL,
Angel
