Getting ready for....

You have a big date with a girl next Saturday night. You really, really want to impress her, so what do you do to get ready?

Femmes....do you get your hair done? Special perfume?

Butch...do you buy new clothes?

Just curious as to what lengths others have gone to...to impress their date.

Might this be you going on "said date"?

Okay, I guess you could still consider me femme, so I'll answer the first part.

If it's a first date, and I am really digging the grrl, I don't shave my legs for three days prior to the date and wear great big ugly granny panties on date night. This is my way of ensuring that I will not do anything rash. I will also spend about an hour and a half in the bathroom, trying different things with my hair and makeup - sometimes having to take a second and third shower if I put too much gunk in my hair. I also have to find a discreet way to wear my low rise jeans without my big old granny panties "popping out". I also call everyone I know, asking for ideas on what to talk about. Nothing stinks worse than those awkward silences on a first date, trying desperately to fill those holes with those "so.......what do you listen to?"

ps, I got your email. I'll try and come up with somethin'!

I'm pretty andro... but I guess you could say my personality is a little more butch, and my appearance just slightly to the femme side...

So I'm thinking of my first 'real date' with my current girlfriend. I met her online, we had met for a workday lunch and had a second lunch/coffee 'date' but this was our first 'real' dinner & movie date. I basically took my everyday work look and kicked it up a notch. (As opposed to my casual weekend scrubby jeans look.) I wore a dark purple tank top with a lighter purple button-up shirt open over it, soft black hip-hugging flared-bottom pants, and 2-inch sandal heels. I think I did my toenails purple (or at least I would if I had it to do over again lol!) I don't do my fingernails, but I just filed them to the same length/shape and trimmed my mangled cuticles. I have long hair that I usually pull back, but I wore it down; I usually wear glasses but I wore contacts. I'm not into jewelry much, I put on just a little bit of makeup, and a dab of patchouli (the only scent I wear if any).

She's sitting here and as I relay this description to her, she says Oh my god you looked fabulous. :) That was 2 months ago. Mission accomplished, eh?

Its funny because all my Life I never really got overly excited for a date and just wore 'whatever' I felt like that night etc..

ALL that changed when I met Kirche *grin

The first date?hmmm...well I can describe my past ones.....my most recent ...we talked awhile on-line before meeting....she came to my town....she got a hotel room.....I was nervous.....I did the whole shaving ,cleaning ,showering bit.....I cleaned the house unsure of she would come by here with me or not and she did.....I shave cause I know the first date won't go past a certain point anyway....I am good about my limits on my first date with anyone.....I usually buy new clothes,or at least a new shirt....my first dates normally go very well....conversation sometimes grows quiet....but when she and I am both nervous somehow I can sense this and try and come up with topics......first dates are amazing, esp. when they led to second dates.....great question Lea,Jane(lol)

You have a big date with a woman next Saturday night. You really, really want to impress her, so what do you do it impress her.

Butches... do you buy new clothes?

Well, for myself, I would put on a dress shirt, a tie, some black jeans, and one of my cologne's. I would polish my boots, make sure that my "beard" is shaved, my ears are clean, and my finger nails are clean. And also that my glasses are clean, so I can see her clearly. I would also make sure that I have some money on me. Of course, I would turn on the Gross charm.

That's what I would do to impress my date. Of course, I would have to go into a bar to find a woman.

Thanks for asking.

Hugs,

Sebastian

Ahhhhh first dates, the excitement, the anxiety, the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat!
Hmmmm it has been 8 years since I have been on a first date.
I take my time getting ready. I start early so I have plenty of time to take a long relaxing hot shower.
Like cat I wear a nice smelling body lotion, not to powerfull. I sometime do cologne such as CK1. Always a light gentle mist.
I take my time shaving, putting on make up and doing my hair and nails. sometimes I will paint them sometimes just groom them. I think I am pretty andro as well. so I can go all the way. If it is not to hot out and it is evening I will always wear makeup.
As for clothes, I like to wear women's clothing and I like to wear colors that look best with my brown hair and eyes. That usually means, browns, reds, certain like muted khaki greens, navy blue and also white. I hate to wear white on a first date incase of a spill or something.
Always the best undies and always shaving.
I never have sex on the first date. And if your date tell's you she never has sex on the first date, ask her, "Well how about the last date?" haaaa get it? It works best with a smile.
Ok, so I usually spend about 4 or five hours taking my time getting ready depending on how I decide to do my hair.
