Back from family reunion...

I am soooooo happy that I went.
The visit was great. Found out that while researching my family tree for the last 3 years I was talking to one of my 2nd cousins on line for over a year now, wondering if we are related.
Spent time with my cousin who talked me into going with him to join the Service. He went to the Marines and I went to the Navy on the same day. He still looks like a Marine. He retired after 26 years and is now still working in the Pentagon. He was there during 911.
I miss my Dad already, but he and his main squeeze will will meet me at my sister's later this summer.
We shared so many family stories and laughed so hard at things people said or did at the reunion. This is the funny and wild side of the family, Mom's side. I also have alot more help with a group of us who are tracing the family tree. So we will share info and help get info for each other. I am going to work on a family video scrapbook for the next reunion which is planned for the same time and same place next year.
They laughed at all my jokes too.
The now young ladies and gentlemen of the family all told me how much they used to look up to my sister and I. Cute, we never new that before. We were the big teenagers back then. They said they though we were so cool and got so excited when ever we were going to be visiting. One of them is already on her 2nd marriage with an 9 year old daughter who talks her head off like the rest of the family.
They gave flags out to all members of the family who have served in the military. We had the youngest of the family there, a little baby, and the oldest of the family 94 years old and he bowls 3 times a week and golfs. He drove himself to the reunion. You would think he was in his 70's.
Since diabetese runs on that side of the family and so many are diabetics they had a whole long table of foods and deserts for diabetics.
I better stop rambling for now.
