Gay bookstores?

I hope this isn't a really dumb question, but I live in really rural areas both when I'm at home on summer break and when I'm at college. Are there such a thing as gay bookstores? I know that there are gay bars and stuff like that, but I thought a gay bookstore might be a good place to meet other girls, and also, I want some gay literature. If there is such a thing, what are some of them called? Thanks!

I've only been to one exclusively gay bookstore, and it is called Outwrite and is located in Atlanta. I'm sure there are others located in larger cities. From what I can tell the Borders in my town employs several lesbians, but it's not a hooking up type of atmosphere. You might want to do an online search for lesbian social groups in your area.

There are gay bookstores in Rehoboth,Delaware and Washington, DC under the name of Lambda Rising. Perhaps they have an on-line site.
