It has come to my attention that the Lavender Women Community Website will be taken down within the next couple of weeks due to inactivity and outdated info.

Well, it's good to know that Pam is doing ok, for starters. In my opinion, it ain't broke so why fix it? The only reason, (and we know why it has been inactive) mainly due to the summer and lurkers that are a bit shy of particpating, because of someone's really backward attitude about how we should express ourselves. (that's right, I'm getting it all out now, I had a feeling this was going to happen). Personally speaking, I don't see anything that's wrong. I think that the only outdated stuff should be "pushed" down a little. If I may express this without having to be confronted, by said, backward person, Some of the stuff such as the LL welcome wagon, and the info about the meet and greet, and all of the other things that are already there, ie, the folders. and everything else should stay exactly like they are.

Of course, I'm not trying to start any unnecssary controversy or arguements, I'm merely expressing my disappointment about having to change some things, that are working just fine. It's a shame that some people really can't grow up.

Well, thanks, and that's how I feel about the whole thing.

Hugs to you and Laurie.

Hugs,

Sebastian

There is plenty of space on the site I created the birthday page on... I'll email you the information needed to log on.

We need to keep Caly's book reviews.

Ok, well, maybe you should change the pictures of the community leaders, and remove pictures of the old Pride 2004. One suggestion though, if you could just save the vocabulary. Some of us don't know some words that are used in the gay and lesbian community, back then and at present.

Yes, I know I embarrassed myself, so what? Now, if I could just remove my foot out of my mouth, no, I got it, thanks.

Hugs,

Sebastian

Hi gigi,
None of us are happy that the site needs to come down. The thing is we have been in touch with Pam, and she just cannot keep it up and does not think she will be able to in the near future. Nobody else can get into the site because of the security reasons that are in Pam's name. So the site can never be used other than to look at it as it was when it stopped being worked on.
So now the site has fallen to the inactive list and must come down to make room for other's to use the space.
Our Pam is understanding of this.
Beth and I would like to start a new site because we really enjoyed having one. But now we need one that we can get into and post on. So this is our only choice.
It is a sad day for sure, and I understand how you are feeling.
It is just one of those things that we cannot change. So we will have to be strong and rebuild.
Any input would be appreciated.
Hugs,
Laurie

Thanks Laurie, I have a serious problem with change. You don't need my approval, go ahead. The only thing that I ask that you leave the vocabulary up. It's a good thing to leave it up, mainly for the newbies.

Thanks, for your patience and understanding.

Hugs.

Of course my knight, and your idea to keep the translations up is a very good one. I like those too and they do change with the times so we will also update them.
I do understand how change can be hard for people. You are certainly not alone in that.
I guess I try to look at it as setting out on a new adventure, like when I had to move to different types of duty stations while in the navy.
But I do understand my friend.
Hugs,
Laurie
