Graduate schools - what do you think??

I have been researching graduate schools recently because I only have one year left of my undergraduate studies. My undergraduate degree will be a bachelors in creative writing and literature. I really want to get my masters of fine arts in creative writing, but it has been really hard to find a school that has that program. Most creative writing programs are low residency, which means I only have to be on campus for a few weeks out of the year. Anyway, I think I found a school that looks like what I want! It's the University of Southern Maine. I think it would be perfect for me because I absolutely love Maine. My sister did her undergraduate work at a college in Maine, and my family loves to vacation in that area, which is the same area the University of Southern Maine is in. My friends in New York state are all upset because they want me to do my graduate work in New York state, but with a low residency program, I would be able to live wherever I wanted or visit them. I'm really excited about finding a university in an area that I like! I know that I need to get through my last year of undergrad studies and I don't know for sure that I will get in to the University of Southern Maine, but I'm still really happy.

What do you think??

Do it now while you can and while you are still in the mood. You can always go back but it is harder when you are involved with full time work and other things in life. Plus studying is harder when you get older.
I think you will be glad that you did it. I would go where you want to go. Friends are great, but they don't live your life.
Good luck!
Hugs,
Laurie

Do what makes you happy. If you want to go to school in Maine, then go to Maine! If the friends that you have are real friends, then they will understand, and be happy for you, and support you in your decision.

Keep going on and do what you want to do.

Just a suggestion.

Hugs,

Sebastian

Best advice I got about graduate school is to find one that will pay you to be there.
