Just a little update here

It has been a mighty interesting few weeks, thats for sure. Been MIA to just deal with life and school starting and vacations at work, so many people missing. Got some overtime, that is nice. Okie Dokie, where to start.....health so far is good, had to do a stress/echo this week. Passed no problems. Went to another doc and she is planning some future surgery to fix some problems from a past surgery, but I am excited about this. I know that sounds crazy. It will be good. Youngest son back in school, the year is off to a good start, and thats a bonus after he missed 38 days last year. *YIKES* Ohh...oldest darling son just joined the Marine Corp. He leaves in 4 months. Not sure how I am doing on that one...as he is such a nice kid...I said KID...and thats what scares me. Plus how am I going to manage this house without him?? He really saves me on many occasions.

Dream girl...is still just a dream. DH is still gone...and its a hot sweaty night.

My sweet lea.
Your brave son will make a fine Marine. As a veteran myself along with other's on this board, I can tell you he will be trained well and made into a fine young man soon. He already seems to be now.
Having a son in the military brings you into a tight knit family as you have never known before. If you need anything you contact a veteran or V.A. or base/fort, and you will never be alone or without help ever again. We all stick together and take care of each other and families forever.
I know it can be a very scarey time for your son to be joining the Marines. It is an honor that can never be taken away.
I wish him a safe tour of duty.
Very honorable of your son. He will always have a special place in my heart as will you his Mother.
We would not have a country without our military.
Please give him a hug from this proud Veteran. The Navy and the Marines work together and so, as the Navy say's, I wish him fair winds and following seas.
He is a brave young man. Be very proud of him lea.
Hugs,
Laurie

Laurie and Pam,

Thank you both for such kind words of strenght and support. I am greatly familiar with the

Marine Corp, as my spouse has been in for 12 yrs now. He is overseas right now by choice.

My son's MOS will be in a field where his father will be able to also be near him, for support and

also to keep an eye on him. This gives me comfort, as I will not be able to see him much. I know he will do fine

as he is a wonderful kid. Just still seems to need his mom, or at least that is what I want to believe.

Thanks again, your words mean a lot to me,

(((hugs)))

Oh Lea,

Yes he still needs his mom, he always will. My son is 18 1/2 and when I woke him up a little earlier, he said wait mom, came out and gave me a great big hug.... It melted my heart. He intends to go into the service as well. Soon I will be saying the same good bye... :( He needs to go find himself and the service is a great place to start out. I will be praying for your son Lea.

Hello my old friend Lea - I am so excited for your son! You know, even if he seems like I kid when he leaves, he will be a man when he gets back. I was married to a Marine too - it's a wonderful choice.

I anticipate a little empty nest syndrome going on with you - but you still have another at home for a while- he will step up where his older brother left off. I bet he will help you when you need it.

miss you,

(((((((((((Lea))))))))))))

Lea, you are very welcome. I mean every word of what I said.
I think it is great that he will be near to his Dad. I wish you and your family all the best.
Hugs,
Laurie
