It's kind of hard to bring up something like this in light of the tragedy our nation is facing, but something light-hearted might be a good thing.

Anyway, who's excited about football season starting?? Anyone participate in fantasy football??

I'm not a big sports person, but I do LOVE college football, and I think I will become a pro football fan this year because Caly likes it a lot. UT plays its first game on Saturday. Caly and I will have snacks, drinks, and TV remote in hand! This is my favorite time of year all around and the excitement of college games really raises my spirits.

Who are you rooting for this year?

I was raised on footbal and love it. This is my favorite time of year all around too ting.
I will be rooting for the Indianapolis Colts. And hoping for the Cleveland Browns to have a decent year. I grew up with the Browns, but I am a loyal home team fan so it is Colts for me.
As for college, I will always be an Ohio State University fan.
Hugs,
Laurie

I like a lot of football teams, I like the Washington Redskins, and the Atlanta Falcons.

Even though I don't keep up with them, I think they are awesome teams.

Great topic!

Amen on the Browns sista! Ha ha, when will they ever get good? Guess we will always be die hard fans...lol, I don't know about the colts though? Who is the quarter back? Maybe I will watch and see his performance before I decide who to follow this year. I like to follow good quarterbacks. I think they are the heart of a team! If they have the right stuff, I will follow them. Guess it's up to you to convince me how good your colts are!

I hate winter and I'm not looking forward to cold weather, but, I have to admit, I'm a football fan and I love to watch them play! Since I'm from Youngstown Ohio, I'm a Browns fan, though at times I hate to admit it. lol

I follow many football teams. I pick and choose based on if they have what I call the right stuff. But, if I don't like the coach, I'm outta there as far as support goes.

Thanks for the light break from disaster Ting.

Peyton Manning, who graduated from here (Univ of TN), is the Colts' quarterback. I like him a lot!

I like the Red skins GiGi! I have a shirt and from Viginia I get a lot of comments against the skins. I have no idea why? You would think VA would support them because they are so close? Go figure? VA doesn't have a pro team so I don't know who these people support? Or do they? Dunno

That's right, I remember Laurie telling me about him last year. I've heard the name, only I haven't followed football for a few years now. I intend to watch more this year! I miss watching it!

I'm probably going to be watching a lot more pro football this year. I think one of the reasons I've always gotten into college football is because of its popularity in the areas where I've lived. One of the popular sayings around here is that people "bleed orange" (orange and white and blue are the school colors), and it's really true. When you look at the stadium on game day all you see is orange. There's always so much excitement in the air, and I love that.
