It's kind of hard to bring up something like this in light of the tragedy our nation is facing, but something light-hearted might be a good thing.

Anyway, who's excited about football season starting?? Anyone participate in fantasy football??

I'm not a big sports person, but I do LOVE college football, and I think I will become a pro football fan this year because Caly likes it a lot. UT plays its first game on Saturday. Caly and I will have snacks, drinks, and TV remote in hand! This is my favorite time of year all around and the excitement of college games really raises my spirits.

Who are you rooting for this year?

Hey I played Rugby for Kent State a few times. I was their hooker! I love the sport and yes about no gear, it's the real thing!

Nope, VA does not consider the Washingtom Red Skins as of their home team! I had a long discussion with several fans about the skins. Washington is the District of Columbia, not considered VA, and they think that the Red Skins play dirty. What football team doesn't from time to time?

I think rugy is pretty cool! I mean how often do you get to kick the ball, run with the ball and roll around in the mud and get completely dirty and muddy? Yeah, I think in rugby you should be able to withstand all of the physical punishment that you get, not to mention you stay in shape, lol!

It's also a great way to bond! LOL! I haven't really seen a ruby game on tv, but when I get my cable turned back on, I'll probably watch ESPN, and see if I can find a rugby game.

Hugs!

Thats interesting Halo, thanks for sharing.

I know the Redskins have their diehard fans but I have also heard that they really arent a popular team for several reasons.

what they are saying over here about the way things are going wouldnt be allowed on the boards! Basically your president doesnt have a lot of respect, not many here supported the invasion of Iraq- NZ sent in peacekeeping forces to mop up afterwards, basically-and now this. Its a bit hard to establish the USA as the richest and most powerful nation in the world when you cant even help your own. Seems to be more about image than anything else. I mean, it wasnt that long ago he announced a multi-billion dollar space program. Who really cares about space when there are people starving and dying?

Ok I dont know a lot about how so many people end up homeless but I do know that if I lived over there, I would be one of them. I am not sure if anyone realises but I get paid by the govt to stay at home and raise my kids. I have been on the "domestic purposes benefit" since my son was born and he is now 14 years old. I curently work part time and as I cant survive on what I earn, I get the DPB top-up. Ok, so NZ doesnt send shuttles off into space, but we take care of our own!!

arent you glad you dont have to do the laundry then, Gigi? LOL! When you get your cable hooked up, watch out for the All Blacks... hopefully they will be kicking Aussie butt! A lot of rivalry between our two countries.
