The week according to Ven...!

What with kids being stranded at the train station, a boy turning 15, a missing brother and a friend heading towards anorexia- there is never a dull moment in my world!!
Nat's daughter lives with her Grandma at the moment, she comes to visit every weekend, sometimes she comes on a friday night and sometimes on a saturday night. This past weekend it was Saturday which usually works out ok- I go back to work to feed the dogs at 4, am usually done by 5.30 and at the train station easily by 6 -but now it stays light for longer, I have to feed the dogs an hour later so they will settle afterwards. Nat was mad because apparently I didnt tell her this but she said dont worry, she has plenty of other friends and she will get a ride for K. I finished the feeding just before 6 and sent Nat a text message to tell her- she said someone else will get K. I could have been there within 15mins - Nats other friend (this is the same one who beat her up, dumped her kids on Nat for a night and didnt come back for a week, replaced the phone she wrecked with a stolen one, smashed up her boyfriends car in Nat's driveway etc etc) didnt show up at the train station. K waited an hour before a taxi driver asked if he could drive her home (this kid is 12 years old!) Thankfully he did bring her home - just dropped her off, asked would she be ok now and went without payment. I was so mad, poor K would not have waited more than 5 mins if I had gone.
Then it was Nat's oldest son's 15th birthday. It was really quite emotional- dont know if this sounds weird or not, but our little boys are growing up to be grotty young men!! Its shocking how quickly they have grown. Nat and I met through our boys who met each other at a mutual friends 8th birthday party. My own son turns 15 in November.
Now i have my phone on, my father decides to call me. He hasnt heard from my youngest brother in over 4 months. It's not like my bro to be out of touch for so long but he may have just decided he doesnt want to hear from his Dad. He recently broke up with a gf who was just using him to get pregnant so she could live off welfare- as our father warned him she was. My father has sent him 3 urgent letters now, asking him to call him collect and let him know if he is ok- but heard nothing. My brother lives less than an hour from here and it looks like I will have to go and check on him. I asked my father to get the local police to do it but he is going overseas in less than a week and said that if anything has happened, he wont be in the country to do anything about it, so wait til he gets back....
And then there's Nat who has over committed herself financially- she bought stuff because she could afford it while I was paying her a ridiculous amount of board money and I did try to warn her... now she wont buy herself food because she barely has money to feed her kids. Her doc took blood tests and told her she is starving herself - but she is not taking it seriously. Oh and dont worry- I am not buying her groceries! She is seeing a budget service but her outgoings amount to $170 a week more than her income... its a tough situation- I know I am not responsible for her, but I dont like to see her starve herself either.
soooo.... how has your week been?!
