Hey all! Okay, I am sorry that I do not have enough time to really read the board these last few days and post. I did want to fill y'all in on some things though, since I prolly still won't have alot of time over the next few days - especially if power and lines go down and all...
I am not evacuating, but I do live in an area that is not under the low-lying flood warning areas. The Heights/Montrose area is safe so far as we know. Also, the storm looks like it is already losing strength and has turned toward the Beaumont area. Yeah, we will still have one hell of a blow job here but I don't think it's as bad as anticipated. My roommate evacuated with the dog and the cat yesterday, so the critters are safe. Lauren Lee and the baby were going to come here to stay, since it is safer here than at mom's, but all roads getting here are gridlocked and by the time they got here the storm would be done and over with. So they will be waiting it out at mom's. Seriously, it took me over 2 hours last night just to get from mom's to my house, and it's only a 15 mile trip. And today it is worse. There is no gas or water to be found now, but I am pretty well stocked up and will be filling some containers with water tonight, just to be safe. Cell phone service is completely down now, but the land lines are still okay though there is some difficulty calling out or in due to high calling traffic.
I do not know when I will be able to go back to work, either. That really sucks. Both of my jobs are in a county that was under mandatory evacuation as of yesterday. I am praying for all of my coworkers now and hoping that they all made it out okay.
Jo's brother has my number, in case he needs anything. I believe that they are also staying in a safe area, probably close to where I am at. My landlord is also going to be checking on me to make sure I am okay, and if worse comes to worse she said they would pick me up in thier truck and take me west with them. I will be okay here though, so I don't plan on going anywhere.
I don't know that I will get back here before all hell breaks loose, so if I don't I just wanted to give y'all some reassuring (((((((((hugs)))))))))) and tell y'all that I will miss you but will be back ASAP! I luv y'all!!!

Saw lots of down trees, fortunately Houston got away from the feared flood.
Poor N.E and the evecuees. They just got back home and told to get out again and saw the levees break to let the water in again. They got to have some good luck next year.
Sorry for those in Galveston,Beaumont and Jasper for the flood and fire and wind and looting. Hope you build back bigger and stronger.
