Here I am sitting in my computer chair waiting for my pain meds to kick in... I dont think my body is up to the physical work that I do anymore. I hardly ever take anything for pain, it has to be fairly extreme but lately I must be keeping them in business! I go to the podiatrist tomorrow to see what his next move is- I think I will be referred back to the orthopaedic surgeon. I have been putting it off for so long because once they start messing with my feet it could be a while before I am up and walking and I will have nothing better to do than sit here and pester you lot!

I joined up to a local site for lesbians. I chat to a few people and I have told a couple where I work. I am hoping that when I do the dog baths on Tuesdays that all the single lesbian dog owners will bring their dogs to be bathed - lol.

I like Broadband so far. I can talk to my son in the lounge. I can tell him when its time to go to bed without yelling at him. I have 3 computers connected up to this thing. Family games nights are taking on a whole different meaning... Nat's mother says its not healthy and my kids need to be thrown outside to play on a nice day- but what Nat's mum isnt taking into account is that the world is changing and has changed a WHOLE LOT since the days of throwing your kids outside on a nice day.

I signed up for a service on my cellphone- everytime I get emails from specified people, I get a text to tell me. It was great while I was out of touch with and worried about a certain person during the hurricanes- I could come and check the email as soon as I got it. But since then, I am finding out that its not the greatest idea when your friends live in different time zones. My phone goes off at 2am to tell me I have an email.

My daughter just turned 11. Its kind of scarey. How soon before she has her period? Needs a bra? Well the bra is not in sight any time soon... lol!

Take care everyone!

Ven, I know what you mean about turning 40. I have been going through that too. And now Sheila is turning into me.
But she is also in her early 40's.
Sounds like a nice big kennel. Ours was also a kennel. Mostly baths for the boarders but also regular grooming shop and school. I was one of the instructors working along with my instructor who owned the grooming school, kennel, and grooming shop.
How do you like the hydrobaths?
I have never used them yet. I found a place to take your own dogs and they have those. Do they get the dogs really clean and well rinsed?
Hugs,
Laurie

ok then, that sounds like a fair compromise... by then it will be all of her problem and none of mine!! On that basis, anytime after 18 will be good....

She was just reading over my shoulder on another lesbian community, I was reading the profiles of the people I had been talking with. She pipes up in the background, then points at the screen saying "why dont you send that one a message?!" (felt like saying ok maybe she sounds like your type, but she aint mine...! )

a dedicated grooming school sounds like a good idea. I am not 100% sure, but I have never heard of anything like that here, you learn to groom as part of other courses like vet nursing 1st year, and animal husbandry.

The hydrobath does a good job, its a high pressure hose, the water is recycled through a tub so I wash the dog with the hydro hose, apply more shampoo and rinse with clean water. The clients ask for me because the other staff dont use fresh water to rinse, the dogs get smelly too soon. I used to fill in with the bathing twice a week but now I only get one day off it!

I went to see the podiatrist, he says the tendons that run from under my feet, and up the back of my legs are so tight that even wriggling my big toe causes me pain. He is not sure what can be done but wants to try physiotherapy to see if some of the tension can be worked out. I have to see my gp for pain killers, the physio sounds more painful than the problem but I will grit my teeth and go with the flow...!

The hydrobath sounds great as long as you use fresh water then. I think I will try it on my dogs at the dog wash not far from here.
Your feet and legs sound so painful. I hope they can take care of them for you.

Laurie
