Anybody else looking forward to Fall?

I say "looking forward to" because we're still getting warm weather and it sure doesn't feel like almost the middle of October--there was a guy laying out by the pool last Sunday. It was close to 90 degrees earlier in the week. I'm so fed up with it. I swear I get seasonal affective disorder when it gets too hot. Well, finally it's getting cooler here.

Football is in full swing, which has been fun to follow. I've got my pumpkin tablecloth out and fall centerpiece on the table. I've also got little miniature pumpkins sitting around and hope to add some gourds to the mix. Oh, and pumpkin scented candles are a must too!

Borders is serving my favorite fall coffee--pumpkin spice--and Starbuck's is offering their pumpkin spiced latte...MMMMMM. I will have to make a batch of pumpkin bread too.

I know I'm rambling. It's 3:00 here and I have another 1.5 hours left of work. Nothing is going on. I'm bored. So, indulge me...what are you looking forward to (if you even like fall LOL) and what are you doing to enjoy the season?

Yes! Me me me me me me meeeeee!

OMG, I know what you mean. As of yesterday, temps were still in the mid freaking 90's here! I admit that I would rather be sweltering hot than freezing cold, but I do enjoy the change in seasons (until it gets too cold and then I am wishing for hot weather again). Yes - here it is almost the middle of October, and it is still too hot to do anything outside during the day, and the mosquiots are unbearable at night and early morning. UGGGGHHHHHH!

Last summer we hit 90 degrees maybe once. Or maybe my memory is just fading...I remember temps being in the 60s on Halloween night in the past. ~sigh

Great question, Ting! Personally, speaking, I'm looking forward to the chilly weather, the leaves turning colors. The rain, and the smell of burning leaves. I'm also looking forward to the long quiet nights. I've been wearing my black work boots, so I can get used to wearing them during the colder days ahead. I simply love the cold air. I can breathe and feel relaxed.

Thanks for the great fall thoughts!

Hugs,

Sebastian

I totally forgot to mention that!

This is County fair season out here, and I remember when you had to wear jeans and a jacket at night, and the rides were so much more fun with that little bit of *cold* in the air...sigh

I'm sitting here with the a/c on high, and it's blowing right on me... I am so sick of this heat and humidity. And to make it worse, I have been having major hot flashes. Forget Fall... Bring on Winter and lots of snow!

Hi TING,

I've really enjoyed the festivals so far. Though, the local festival looks like it will be rained out this weekend. This past summer, I suffered from dehydration, so I'm looking forward to less humidity and cooler weather. I'm sure I'll be complaining when it hits the 30's though. I love to run in cooler weather. I've actually ran in 90-100 degree weather. When it is that hot, it feels like someone has a blow torch on your body by the 2nd mile. Cooler weather doesn't induce dry heaving after a run. Last Saturday morning, I enjoyed a run in 50+ degree weather. The entire 7 miles was awesome!

I would love to attend a Halloween party and dress up especially if it were an all lesbian Halloween party. But, I doubt I find that around here. We have a local club but it is owned by a gay man who dislikes lesbians. I heard that locally through the grapevine. :( Why? Why? I ask! Yes, I would like to play dress up.

Local restaurants are already serving pumpkin pie in this 88 degree heat. LOL Once the weather cools a bit- like the 70's - I'll being doing my famous crustless pumpkin pie to get my beta carotene in. Got get those Beta's and those Omega's in...okay, so omega is fish. But, I thought that sounded good.

I may try and watch The Sixth Sense on Halloween night, but I don't know if I can...I'm afraid I'll start seeing dead people.

Fall is my favorite time of year. It has been a bit cool here these past few days. The nights even cooler in the 40's.
We did have our first frost last week.
It has been perfect weather here.
The Colts are 4-0 and we are happy.
Notre Dame and Ohio State play on Saturday's so I am loving it.
Since we had the big old maple trees cut down in the front yard this summer we don't have any raking to do.
We replaced them with red buds so I hope they look pretty this coming spring, but they might be to young yet.
The air outside already smells better too. I am planning to make bird houses for the far back yard that we don't use. I plan to make the bird houses out of gourds like I saw on HGTV and hang them in the trees with a big bird feeder.
They will be out of the dogs reaches too.
We had to buy new sweaters for Max because he shivers so hard outside and in the evenings. At night he sleeps under the blanket in our bed. He is so little that I have to feel around to find him so I don't lay on him. You can't tell he is under there just by looking.
Ok, enough rambling. It just feels good that fall is in the air!!!!
Hugs,
Laurie

We usually get snow or rain for Halloween. Somehow it always stops raining so the little kiddies can go trick or treating.
They have trick or treating at the malls too. They go to all the stores and each stores spends so much money for candy to give out. It is the cutest thing. They are all strung out from store to store in their little costumes. Very sweet. And they are safe too.
Hugs,
Laurie
