Anybody else looking forward to Fall?

I say "looking forward to" because we're still getting warm weather and it sure doesn't feel like almost the middle of October--there was a guy laying out by the pool last Sunday. It was close to 90 degrees earlier in the week. I'm so fed up with it. I swear I get seasonal affective disorder when it gets too hot. Well, finally it's getting cooler here.

Football is in full swing, which has been fun to follow. I've got my pumpkin tablecloth out and fall centerpiece on the table. I've also got little miniature pumpkins sitting around and hope to add some gourds to the mix. Oh, and pumpkin scented candles are a must too!

Borders is serving my favorite fall coffee--pumpkin spice--and Starbuck's is offering their pumpkin spiced latte...MMMMMM. I will have to make a batch of pumpkin bread too.

I know I'm rambling. It's 3:00 here and I have another 1.5 hours left of work. Nothing is going on. I'm bored. So, indulge me...what are you looking forward to (if you even like fall LOL) and what are you doing to enjoy the season?

I am trying to find the intructions on the gourd bird houses too. I will forward them to you if I find them. I am not sure what to do to the inside and how to just keep the one little hole for the birds.
I groomed Phoebe this week so now she has to wear her t-shirt. We had to get clothes for all of them because they wanted to beat Max up when he got to wear clothes and they didn't. Now they all have to get their clothes on or they get jealous.
I think it would be funny to have them put a pink bow on Brandy as a joke for caly.
We found that baby clothes are so affordable for the dogs and you can probably find team shirts too.
We are looking for Colts shirts for our fur kids.
We will be watching the Notre Dame game this Saturday. Then the Colts play on Monday Night Football.
Yes, on the Red Buds! We both love them and we can keep them groomed nice since they are still young.
Go for the bow on brandy! Funny!
Hugs to you and the family!
Hugs,
Laurie

Yesssssss!!! I told ting if I found out the info I would pass it on... lol. I know you are sharing with her... right? Lol.
Ok, I need to know,
1) How do you clean the inside and how do you preserve both the inside and outside so it is safe for the birds?
2) Are they strong enough to hang with wire?
Thank you so much caly!!
Hugs,
Laurie

Ok Not a problem hehe...

What you need to do is DRY the gourds. This is accomplished by making sure first off you have a gourd free of bruises or blemishes that will make them rot rather then dry.

I'm doing a lot better with sticking to my guns with DD1, but it's hard. We can't shield them from everything, especially at school, but we can give them the skills to make good choices.

I'll bet your boys will be cute!

Thank you caly,
I swear I posted a thank you here before, but I don't see it.
I can't wait to try them. I expect the house wrens to be back this year. Maybe they won't need to nest in our mailbox if the have a nice cozy gourd to live in, lol. I always throw the dog fur out for them after I brush them. It doesn't take long for them to take it to their nests.
Hugs,
Laurie
