what a night! i was woken up first by my 3 cats who push me out of bed and I cant move them so I get out of bed and get back in the other side.. that was cold and so I wasnt able to get back to sleep again quickly...then next thing there is a crashing on the roof and another...that made the cats move. So I am lying awake wondering what that could have been- I thought it was someone throwing stuff on my roof but was trying to talk myself into believing that. Then there are other noises I put down to maybe its windy out there, had just about talked myself into believing that when there was an almighty smash through the glass panel on my front door. I heard the sound and panicked that it was my son's window they had smashed- someone had been throwing hunks of cement at my house. So I called the police who were here within 10 mins, I have no idea who would do this (it was just after 3am when it happened)- police brought in a tracker dog who picked up a scent right away. It lead to a young woman who had been walking home past my place and she saw two boys do this, she showed the police where they went, id'd them when they were picked up. One of the boys lives directly across the road from us. The other is his crim mate- they had a falling out a little while back and the mother told me the mate broke into their house, smashed things, tipped things out, sent them threatening texts and even poured paint all over their elderly dog. Well it seems they are mates again and this is what I have living across the road from me. I am worried that now they got in trouble for what they did that problems will escalate. I dont even know this boy. Couldnt pick him out of a group -have only ever seen him from a distance. His parents are away and the police told me they will keep him in custody overnight but my gf tells me legally can only hold them for 2 hours which is up in 30mins. She is on her way through to look after the kids while I go to work in 2 hours time. Have someone coming asap to board up my front door until they can replace the glass. I have vacuumed several times and still finding glass everywhere. Has someone invented a teleporter yet?!
I told the police I am a lesbian and my girlfriend has spent a lot of time here lately and they are going to question the boys as to their motives and take it from there. I am in a housing corp house so if this is a hate crime and likely to be a recurrent event, I can be transferred into emergency housing until another permanent placing comes up.

it's disturbing to think you try to talk yourself into believing someone is throwing stuffs onto your roof and you're ignoring that. I hope it's not a hate-crime. Be safe/stay safe.

OMG! Ven! I would be petrified to stay there. I am so glad that you are ok for now. I hope you can get the heck out of there with those thug mates living there.
Please let us know about the motive. I would want out of there anyway and I will worry about you until you are out of there.
Please check in and let us know that you are alright.

Be safe, I am so happy that you have the option of emergency housing. I can't imagine what was going through those stupid little heads.

Tight big hugs,
