So friend, you like to take your time.

However, the potential for the casual relationship to develop into something more committed is to me what makes it "dating" more than just hanging out with a friend.
Is this dating with benefits?

So we have been dating each other for the past 6 months. We just had a conversation about are we a couple and I said yes ,because we are only seeing each other.
I applaud you both!

But it does sound like a situation you would find yourself in Lesli!! LOL
Now why is that?

You're right about friendships though, they are the best. I'm sorry that I haven't nurtured my own anymore than I have.
This was the part that hurt me the most here in Virginia.

I liked dating. I think of dating as the people you go out with when you have that infatuation and attraction towards them. You want to see if it will lead to more. So you ask them out, or they ask you out on a date. You go to dinner or out dancing and you mostly dance together. You might hold hands or have some physical communication. Maybe kiss maybe not yet. You end up staying up late talking about everything.
I haven't found this type of person in Virginia...

Feel better soon!

Yes, Lesli, if experience has taught me anything;it's if I go too fast, my potential girlfriend my run the other way and leave me in the dust, but holding hands and an occasional kiss doesn't hurt.
Hugs!
