The Holiday is a coming....

Okay this holiday season is almost here. And there's one thing I'm really dreading doing. We have to do the grandparents house on Christmas. They are my step grandparents but have always been around when I was growing up. They just make me feel really uncomfortable. My grandmother was the first person to feel me up at a family reunion. They show (not shy at all about it) that their real grandchildren (my two younger sister's) are their favorite. They always give me and my older sister a box of home made cookies for Christmas. They give this to us in front of everybody - They then call my two younger sisters into a different room - one got a computer & 200.00 last year. The other one was given a check for 400.00.
Use sister then went into the other room and they told us what they got. My little sister asked how much money we had got. We both said we just got cookies. She then got up and tore the check into tiny little pieces and left it in the family room. She said that it's wasn't fair that we just got cookies. I explained to her that Christmas isnt about get..... She still wouldn't stop fussing. It went on and on and our two aunts jumped up in her face. It all got way out of control.
Any way we got a letter in the mail asking us to come to dinner. I think we will just go for dessert. I will be so glad when we walk out of her door and leave her house. We'll all look at each other (the sister's) and say we made it through another year!!!!
Does anybody else have something that they dread doing this holiday season?

((((((((((Angel)))))))))) With all you've been through girlfriend, you sure don't need this. I'm so sorry you've had to endure it. I agree with your deciding just to go to dessert. I probably wouldn't go at all, actually, but that's the stubborness (sp?) in me that has reared its ugly (or not so ugly?) head over the past year.
Know that we're all thinking of you as you go through this. I do hope the rest of the holiday will be happy for you.
Hugs!
I really can't think of anything I dread doing. Maybe driving 5 hours in the car next week with my DDs would be it. I never look forward to that. Oh, and I do dread taking down the holiday decorations. It will be sad, and I'm getting kind of tired of packing up things.

I really don't dread anything this holiday season! I'm like a little kid in a candy store when it comes down to Christmas. The only thing I do wish I could do is calm down long enough to sleep on Christmas Eve, yes, I'm very excitable about Christmas. I always have been and always will be. That part about me doesn't change!!!
I think it's a good idea that you just go for dessert. I wouldn't want the best day out of the year, besides my birthday, to be ruined.
I hope that your Christmas is going to be ok.
Hugs!
