What's Been Up with Us

Hi all,

I haven't been around so much lately. Our lives are moving at a fast clip these days. I'm busy at work, and Caly is also dealing with some work challenges. Our weekends have been full of activities with the kids. Jordan, Caly's son, was here at the end of February. We had a nice time with him.

My DD1 is now into soccer, so we have practice and games every week. I'm glad she is involved in something. We even met a lesbian couple at the first game. I have met one of the women before, but I'm not sure she remembers me. I haven't really had a chance to talk at length with her. My DD went to preschool with her DD for a short while. She adopted two African American girls. It was SO nice to be in the company of "family."

Our apartment is finally all set up. We are loving it as are the girls. Earlier in February, Caly and I had formal pictures made together. They turned out great and we have a few hanging in the apartment (we will post one soon). We also attended another GLBT social function. We visited a church in January that has a pretty high GLBT population and they have a social group that meets with the GLBT metropolitan community church in town once a month. We were the only lesbians at the gathering we attended, but it was still fun. We played Scattergories and

Well Ting, thanks for the update. Nice to hear all is well, except for Caly's work issue. Hopefully they will be resolved soon.

Here's my update:

Jennifer, Leanne, and I joined the gym and we all love it. Jen quit smoking cold turkey 6 days ago. I was supposed to join her but didn't because I went to get nicotine patches from the hospital I work at (they give them to employees for free) and my blood pressure was way too high. SO I went to my Dr. and she put me on blood pressure meds and it is coming down slowly. Maybe tomorrow I can qualify for the patches. I don't think I have the willpower to quit like Jen did. I have the nurses take it everyday, maybe tomorrow will be the day I can start the patch.

My puppy , Sid, weighs 38 lbs at 5 months old, he is an ox. We love him so much! But, he is in the doggie hospital tonight due to my stupidity. I left a bottle of spider spray on the floor in the garage and he chewed the sprayer nozzle and ingested the most toxic thing he could have ever found. We rushed him to the vet and he has chemical burns in his mouth and his esophagus had begun eroding. They think he is going to be ok. To make matters even worse he has mange. The inherited kind, it's not contagious. He is going to have weekly dips for 4 weeks, then biweekly 5 times. What a nightmare. Poor Sid is going bald, and now he's

What's been up with me:

I'm still doing the online creative writing course. My mystery lady is still in my life, thank Goddess. My yoga practice is still going on and I'm getting stronger every day. My sleeping is suffering a bit, but I'm learning to sleep late on Saturdays, but this Saturday, I'm making a trip to Barnes and Noble or maybe Borders to get a book that I need to seriously read.

Periodically, I've been writing in the My frapper blog, please feel free to read it, (if you're not already, lol). I still have my other blog and I'll be entering something new in it. I don't know when but I will. My apartment is fuctioning like an apartment, meaning my tv is on and working, I mean how else would I be able to watch my favorite tv shows.

Either the lining of my lungs are starting to hurt or my ribs hurt, but I'm attributing that to my constant moving and not sitting still long enough to get my proper rest to that or I'm just allegic to the dust that's on the floor. I'm going to have to sweep my floor again and wipe it down.

I really can't wait for winter to finally be over, I really am getting tired of the cold. I was spoiled with the 70 degree weather last weekend. I've got a workshop coming up, I'm going to that, but that's not until later on in the evening. So far, it's been quiet in my building, the building manager called my apartment for reasons unknown. I was out for the day when she called. I'm staying out of the gossip and chaos of my building and either going out or staying home. Walking with a cane, is getting easier, as long as I slow down and walk and not run, I'll be fine. Some of my resolutions are coming true and some of them are on the way.

Thanks for reading!

Hugs!

Sounds like you're doing great! Are you enjoying the online creative writing course? I found one I want to take but don't have the money right now. I'll have to save up!

I'm enjoying the online writing course very much. The assignments are somewhat easy. Of course, I only had to pay one price. Of course, it has some books that's recommended to get. I'll be checking some of those books out and adding them to my book collection.

Hugs!
