Do you ever confront someone who's angered or hurt you in a way that makes you feel so proud of yourself afterward? I don't mean a physical or verbally abusive confrontation, but one spoken in

Go Lady!!!!!!! Impressive!!!!
I had a follow-up appointment today to check the result of my diabetes result from the last time I was at my dr's office, well, when I got home from my yoga class, I had a message waiting for me. My doctor's office called and told me that my doctor had a personal emergency. So, being the caring guy that I am, I asked if he was ok and his secretary said yes, but that I need to reschedule my appointment.
Well, you should have seen the expression on my face. I had waited a whole week for my results, and wasn't about to wait three days to see my doctor! It seems that Lab Corp takes 5 days to return the results of a blood test of any kind. Ok, fine. Now this is from last Wed afternoon that I had my blood drawn, today is now Friday. In my opinion, they should have had the results on the Wed of this week. Now, I had an appointment card given to me and it had the 27th on it. I get an appointment confirmation phone call this Wed telling me that my appointment is on the 28th (today). (I'm not trying to confuse you, this is how it happened).
So, being the anal person that I am, I stand up for myself and say, "No, my appointment card says the 27th. Isn't there anyway the doctor can see me?" The answer was no. So, I sighed and asked for the appointment that's scheduled for today. My appointment time was for 1:10pm, then they pushed it back to 2:20. I agreed.
So, I go to my appointment, get the answers that I was looking for and I found out that my doctor was in the office this morning. All I did was shake my head in wonder. I still have to go back to see my doctor in order for him to fill out my paperwork for my driver's license. But that's ok, My health is more important than my paperwork for my driver's license. I told the doctor that was there, my driver's license was secondary, my bloodwork level info was more important.
So, it only goes to show that if I stand up and tell those that think they can control my day and my schedule, they really don't.
Thanks!
Hugs,
Sebastian

Good for you, Sebastian! You really have to be an advocate for yourself sometimes in regard to medical issues. Last fall I was scheduled for a physical with my internist and when I got there they didn't have me on the schedule. Fortunately, they were VERY accommodating and fit me in. Apparently, one of the staff members wasn't doing her job and hadn't been for a long time.
Hope you are ok healthwise...Take it easy.

Well, My cholesterol is high and my blood sugar is high, but that was to be expected from the last appointment. So, the attending physican gave me a chart telling me what was ok for me to eat and what wasn't ok for me to eat. Before I left the doctor's office, I wasn't in a good mood, but it's getting better as the day goes by. Now I know what I have to do for myself.
Thanks and I will take care of myself.

Sebastian,
That is crazy.
Carol, In love with the most beautiful woman in the world.
Hey Kacey,
That's what the attending physican told me, it usually takes five days to get the results from the blood tests that I took. Because of the fact that I also had a very sensitive blood test taken (I had a blood taken for my testosterone level) which is normal. I'm thinking they were using the doctor patient confidentiality idea. Which is a good thing. There are other patients that are in the individual exam rooms and they usually have do door sitting wide open.
So, they were protecting themselves against a law suit. My doctor wanted to go over the results of my blood tests, and possibly send me out for more and just to see where my new levels were. He's making sure that I don't need to go on diabetes medication. But since he had a personal emergency, I wasn't about to wait another three days to see him. So, I was given a list of foods that I could choose to eat, foods to go easy on, and foods to avoid. So, I wasn't in a very good mood on Friday. So, I reluctantly, started my new diet. It's not so bad though. But in the meantime, I've been taking gloucophage as prescribed. But I don't feel as tired and as grumpy. I know everything will be ok and so will I.
Thanks Kacey,
Sebastian

Way to go :)
Our youngest daughter has multiple disabilities and medical conditions, so over the years I got pretty comfortable with advocating for her needs and making changes in systems.
