Caly came across this article recently that discusses the trend toward sexy messy hair and how one can achieve the look.

I seem to remember from a picture I saw of you a long time ago that you have a nice, thick mane. Is that right? I can picture it looking good with a more "carefree" style.

OK, let's see if I can address all the issues that have been brought up in this one post.

First, Is Messy Sexy?

I think "controlled messy" can be sexy. By that I mean there are some hairstyles that have a carefree or messier look that I like, but they resemble some sort of style--I'm thinking the shaggy look here. Some people though look like they literally got out of bed and walked out the door without changing clothes or at least running a brush through their hair. That look is definitely NOT sexy in my book. While I like to style and spray my hair, on others I prefer a more natural look.

Are Messy Clothes Sexy?

Generally, no. However, the holey jean look can be sexy on the right person wearing the right top and shoes. I think holey jeans on a tall, slender woman with long hair wearing high-heeled boots look sexier than holey jeans on a woman who's also wearing a ripped t-shirt and flip flops. So, it's a "total package" thing for me I guess.

I also cannot stand the extremely baggy, below the hip waistband jeans. There is nothing sexy at all to me about that look.

Wearing Hair a Certain Way Because Others Like It

I like to wear my hair a certain way because others like it and I like it, not just because others like it. I'd be miserable if I wore my hair a certain way to please someone else but it wasn't really a style I liked. Caly and I discuss things like this a lot. I'll have some ideas about hair styles and run them by her. I respect her opinion and she always gives me good advice. I want her to like my hair style as much as I like it, but if she really feels like a style wouldn't look good on me, I'll consider something else.

When she is sporting a major case of bed-head (hubba hubba), Courtney is the hottest woman in the world!

I use John Freida's shampoo and conditioner for blondes. Sometimes, I have to wash twice! I don't use anything else becasue I don't want it to lay perfectly, lol!

Grown up clothes, hmmm? No holes in the jeans, no crack showing when I squat down, I should probably tuck my shirt in...neat and tidy. I am 37 and too old to let my 17 yr old dress me. I love the comfy clothes the kids get to wear, so as long as I don't look too childish - I wear them too. I have to dress like a grown up at work!LOL

By the way - a hairbrush hasn't touched my hair since high school!I don;t even own one. I have a pick though!LOL

I'm just a mess.

Oh yeah, that's true. LOL I would have to buy stock in wax and gel if I wanted the messy look. My hair is limp and straight as a board!

Sounds sexy to me!

I actually use a flat iron before I mess my hair! I keep the front flat, no waves. The back is where the mess is on my head.

Anyone but me notice that no matter what the topic, TiNG manages to work in Shoes?

Based on the reactions I get since growing out my (very curly therefore untameable) hair, I'd say it's a definitely yes.
