I didn't get the idea that you found it trivial. We all look at things from different perspectives, and especially with this group on this board, I don't think we see certain things as a battle. We see living openly as simply the thing to do, and it's such a part of every day life that for us, it IS matter of fact. But others out there define gays and lesbians living honestly as "flaunting it" and "shoving it in our faces"..and on that level, it is a battle, even if we're not consciously fighting it.

WRT textbooks...I think too, of the kids reading those books...who ARE gay, and recognise that there are great gay role models. Who have gay parents, and get it that they are not alone in that respect. Who may think nothing of spitting out terms like "that's so gay"...til they realize that those terms mean something, and offend real, living breathing people....

anyhow..not trying to correct you, ma'am...lol..just sharing a perspective of my own.

I don't think how we feel about things is right or wrong, and sometimes, it's simply a matter of wording, cause underneath the core feelings are the same/similar.
