You had some truly wonderful observations about the book Eastie.

It’s interesting you think the book is cold and impersonal. I don’t think the book is warm or hot ;-) but I thought Ms Butler was skillful in conveying Dana’s dilemma and the tension she was going through. While reading the story, I know I hated the wait for the next time when Dana has to travel back to Rufus. I just want the story to end in a neat package when she got back home the second time but than we wouldn’t have a story to discuss, I don’t think. :-) I hope you will give the story a second read in the future.

Thanks for the heads up, T2!
I’ll be here for the June 26th discussion. I might be late again though, I’ll try not to be late all the time. I’m not really like that in real life. *L*
I would like to add two books for consideration.

A fractured mind by Robert Oxnam – A fast read and very interesting to boot!
and another one which I don't remember the title. I don't know the author's name either. So why do I want the book for consideration? Because I was so impress by the author on GMA or was it Today show seen earlier this week. I'll search for it and bring it up again if/when I find it. See how good her pitch was??? *L*

Ia bsolutely agree that there was a dilemna, and that there were definate issues with regard to power, etc. But overall, the book just didn't draw me in. It didn't feel "real" enough...but some books just don't work for some people, right?

I wonder what you would think if I say wrong, wrong, wrong…*l*

Of course, all books are not readable…I feel the same way about a book on calculus.
Kindred is just a fiction. I just thought it deserves a second look. Not trying to push it or anything…unless they give me a cut of the profit. *l* Just out of curiosity, does every book have to “feel” real to you? *grin*

That's a really interesting question Eastie.
