The Episcopal Church, expected by some to move in a more conservative direction during this June's convention, has instead taken another path.

This is a turn I didnt necessarily expect, it may be that if enough churches become inclusive the government will have to follow suit. I was thinking it would have to be the other way around.

Yay! Two huge steps toward inclusion in one day...and both in the religious realm, no less. I am hopeful that we will be hearing more and more of what Schori and so many others recently have said about the harm that's done when people interpret the Bible literally.


Side note...I find it very interesting that Schori went from working with squids and oysters to leading a church.

I am not sure of the actually census numbers but I have a feeling that there are actually much fewer Right Wing Fundamentalist here then people think.
