Good Morning All!
Hope you all had a great weekend. Here's this week's query and I look forward to hearing your thoughts on the subject.

As someone who has never needed to diet... until now, I have to agree with the old Garfield cartoon:
Grrrrr.......... diet is a four letter word.
I think dieting is an evil thing invented by mean people. :D I prefer to think of it as a lifestyle change ... neither that or dieting really have worked for me though.

Having been on every diet known to modern man in my 59 years, I have to say I don't really believe in diets, or at least their long-term effects.

Well, I've only made a big effort to lose weight once in my life. I didn't call it dieting though. Never liked that word very much. When I found myself at a much heavier weight than I wanted (none of my clothes fit at all), I decided to "get in shape." I didn't follow a "diet" but I did watch the junk food intake & I joined a gym. I think working out did the most for me. In general, I tend to like fruits & veggies, chicken & fish, and I don't eat fast food at all. But I've found that I can eat pretty much what I want as long as I exercise regularly.

Oy! Dieting..... I have dealt with an eating disorder on and off since I was 12. I have been doing pretty good this year and my weight has been stable.
In America I think too much is expected from women regarding appearance/size, and it stresses us out resulting in over eating or starving or both.

I believe eating healthy and in decent proportions and getting regular exercise is all the "dieting" one needs (in most all cases).
Say the word diet, and I gain a few pounds immediately from the stress of it.
So I don't. I just cut snacks and nibbles, eat better and move more.
Or fall in love - that seems to work the best.
