Yup, I do listen to BBC & NPR mostly.
I've been concern about everything since the Bush Administration took office. Domestic and International policies. And you know what, I don't feel any better with the alternatives either. I don't know their policies and where they stands firmly. I kept my ears open to what everyone is saying and it's coming across to me like they are either saying the same thing as the Bushies or not saying enough to make me see a difference between them and the Bushies.
The state of Mass's policy is also on my radar. I don't like my Gov's policies either. He abolished a program that was set up to help teenage gays to cope with pressure from school and homes so they won't kill themselves a day before teen's Gay Pride Day at the city hall and he vetoed minimum wage hike to $8.00/hr and he's traveling around the nations pitching himself as a contender to Presidency while the state of mass residents is paying it. Just a few things I'm focusing on. :-)
I follow current events fairly closely, and debate them over at Politics Today.

Nope, I don’t have any grip on how the politicians running the world for us. Like you, I just listen and read and do some critical thinking of my own. Sometime, it’s disappointing to hear what comes out of their mouth but I’m always hopeful the idiots will be voted out by next election as long as fears did not grip the voting public. Bush is a great example. Fear got the better of the thinking public and he got in legit the second time around. I still think he stole the first term or should I say Karl R help him steal the first term. Can you see I’m still trying to move on? *L* I keep wondering What IF Al Gore was our President.
So this is what you do for fun.
Now, what do you do to make yourself say, "hummm"? ;-)
On the serious note. Have you heard one of the couples (the Goodridge) that fought for gay marriage in MA is separated? What do you think of that? Will it hurt the cause throughout USofA or it won't matter?
I don't think their divorce will hurt our cause.

I'm not the pot that calls the kettle black, but I play one on Politics Today.
Gay and lesbian couples in this country are forming healthy
partnerships, parenting children and creating families and
will continue to do so.

I don't follow the news as closely as I should, especially when we have DDs. It's hard to pull away from our routine and watch the news. I do read the headlines on Yahoo every morning. Lately, I've been getting bits and pieces of news from the nightly tv news shows, the paper, and Yahoo. I'm trying to educate myself on the Lebanon/Israel conflict. Their are so many groups in those countries, and I want to figure out how they're all connected.
I worry about the conflicts in the Middle East and the long-term consequences. I follow gay rights issues diligently. Locally, there's not much to follow, although the Feds recently raided several businesses downtown and that's been interesting. They are owned by a man who has supposedly laundered money from the sale of a ton of marijuana. The businesses are very successful and have helped revitalize downtown. I really hope they'll stay open.
So much going on in the world today, its a bit overwhelming at times.
