You are right Cat. And what makes it even worse is the guys that refuse to up the minimum wage for the rest of us, have voted themselves wage increases of almost 30% over the last 10 years!

Hi Cat,

I read in a magazine last night that a person working full-time at minimum wage makes just over $10,000/yr. That's really scary. In my job, we get minimal or no raises at all usually, but our insurance premiums and parking fees keep increasing. Something's gotta give.

Thanks for replying!

I have the same problem of not finding time to sit and watch the news but I hate to miss out. My solution is the radio. See if you find a local news station on your radio or if you can get NPR or BBC. At least you can get things done while listening. :-)

I do follow the news pretty closely, Caly...although Nony does read in a lot more depth about some things than I ever do. I'm actually surprised that she hasn't been on here already, airing her views on this one. Maybe I'll give her a nudge ;)

The Middle Eastern situation is the thing that bothers me most at the moment. I just cannot see how Israel and Palestine will resolve the conflict between them the way things currently stand. I wish to god that the USA would change its stance regarding support for the Israelis - the way I see it, until there is some recognition of the Palestinian plight and the historical injustices that they have suffered, then things look to remain pretty grim methinks.

Anyway, I shouldn't try to get into this in too much detail as I'm hardly

I do follow the news quite closely in some cases. Outside of the US, my perspective has really changed ...
