Hi Ladies,
I've stumbled upon your board and feel like i've found a goldmine!! I am mid 30's, mother, divorced, and lesbian. My divorce was final just a few days ago, and now my girlfriend of 2 years has broken up with me. My heart is broken and I feel sooo lost. I don't even know where to begin. How do I meet other lesbians interested in someone with children? is this uncommon? All of the gay gals I met with my ex girlfriend would make comments to me about having children, are you sure you're gay, you don't look gay. ??? Now, all those comments that didn't really bother me at the time are making me doubt the expectations i have of eventually meeting someone else and making a life with them. Am I disillusioned, will the lesbian community really accept someone like me? Any advice, please ??

Hello Andi!
I am soo glad you found us! I am not sure what part of the country you live in, but I currently live in TN with my partner (who happens to be TiNG the other CL here *grin) and before that I lived in Burlington, VT. In both places a good number of the lesbians
Hi andigirl.
I believe there is alot of disillusionment within the gay community about gays and lesbians as much as there is in the straight world. It's one thing to hear a hetero say "but...you don't look gay". But honestly,

Hi Andi,
So glad you found us! I'm sorry your g/f broke up with you so close to your divorce being final and that you've gotten some flack from the lesbian community about having children.
I have two young daughters, have been divorced for about 1.5 years, and met my partner here (Caly). There are many of us who have children and we lead lives just like everyone else. There's no "lesbian mold" that we need to fit in to be accepted.
Hope you'll continue to post and to find opportunities to meet other lesbians.
Hugs
