QOTW for August 21

So many of us have blogs now, and I enjoy reading them on a daily basis in addition to our message boards. It's nice to get a peek inside my long distance friends' lives. I think sometimes it's easier to share more in-depth information about ourselves and our lives or write in detail about a particular subject or interest more through blogs than message boards. Here on this board we hope you feel comfortable sharing parts of your life with us in addition to asking for support and advice.

With that said,

"What are your thoughts on blogs vs. message boards? How do you view their purposes?"

Have a great week!

Hugs

I like that analogy- "a guest at someone's house". Only the someone doesn't know you have even been a guest unless you tell them so.

Another thought is that, as you point out, message boards often cater to a particular subject or theme, whereas the theme of the blog is it's author.

Even though I understand that message boards are as public as blogs, I prefer to stick with messages.

I keep a hidden blog that nobody knows about and is fully protected. I originally started it to keep up with my day to day life. What I have realized though is that I do nothing but complain about how complex things are and how miserable I am.

Really though... I'm not that miserable. I am a happy person. But my blog says otherwise.
