I myself don't necessarily believe in interpreting dreams the way Freud suggested but I do think your subconscious is reacting to things going on in your life at that time.
I very rarely remember anything about my dreams, but I do hope the last one I remembered was prophetic as it involved the resolution to a long dispute with someone.
I usually do remember my dreams and nightmares, but I've been so utterly exhausted lately that I fall so deeply asleep I don't really dream. And Nate (almost 1) still gets up in the night, so I have only between 3-4 hours uninterrupted before I go back to bed and start a new dream. Last night's was good, though.

I do believe they try to tell us things.
