We need contributions to the website. If there is a lack of interest I need to know as it is costing me some money.
If you have any poems, recipes, things about our board, vents, collumns, crafts, music/CD reviews, movies birthdays, other events that you would like to share on the website please submit them through the website so that I can update it.
I believe this helps attract other's to our board too. Also do not forget the "shout out's".

Hey there,
That would be awesome the next time you guys are in the area to holler at us. Where in GA do they live? We live in Gainesville. We go to Murfeesboro alot, we have friends that live there and then my parents live in Franklin, NC so we go up that way a good bit also. Debra was actually born in Ohio but has lived in Georgia and Texas most of her life and I am orginally from FL and moved to GA in 86 and have been here ever since. We both want to go farther north eventually, we both love the Blue Ridge, in fact we are planning on taking the bikes next month (she has a Harley, I am a beginner so I have a Yamaha, lol) and going up on the Blue Ridge. We eventually will probably move that way but for now will stay here close to my son and his school. I am with you on being happier than I have ever been. I just never imagined that it could be this way!!! We are both very lucky!!! This has been awesome meeting all of you this way!!! I am still trying to learn who all is who but I am slowly getting there!!!! Take care. Brenda and Debra

Yeah, Sheila and I pretty much do everything together.
Does your ex know? If so, how is he taking it? Am I asking to many questions? lol.
I'll stop for now, I am sure there will be plenty of time for questions right? Oooops! Another question!
Hugs to you and Debra,
Laurie

Hi again Brenda!
Its so cool that you all live so close I am going to us my special Giraffe Happy face!
Hey Laurie,
I hope that you had a good day!!! Please ask away.. I don't mind at all.... I have never said in so many words to my ex about my relationship with Debra but I know he is pretty sure about it. We kinda have an unspoken rule don't ask me and I won't confirm it. :) I know it is hard on a guys ego and overall he is being a real sport about it all and has come to accept her as a part of mine and my sons life so I give him a lot of kudo's for that. So how did you and Sheila meet? Hugs to you and Sheila!!!

Hey there!!! I can't believe I had written this long response and I went out pushing buttons to try to change my font and guess what... puff... lol.. so here I am for another try!! :) That is so awesome!! Athens is so close and so Franklin the next time that you guys are this way you will definitely have to holler at us. ( We are playing monopoly and Deb is getting ill at me for not paying attention... lol... between her and Trev hollering MOm it's your turn!! Hee hee.... I am getting the impression I am driving them nuts.. ) okay I had to digress there.... back to what we were talking about... We take a good bit of road trips so the next time we head that way we will let you know....
As for Asheville, we have never spent any time actually in town, I have been to the Biltmore, Deb hasn't been yet so I am going to have to take her..but my family had a cabin in Linville, NC which is about an hour away from Asheville, we had it for 32 years and it about killed me when we sold it. We love it up there, it is so pretty up there!!! We have made some friends in Franklin, I had some to begin with and her cousin does photography and she did ours by the way she does an awesome job, takes them outside.. there I go digressing again....she and her g/f go to Asheville a lot and we are planning to hook up with them one weekend and let them show us where all the spots are to go.
I totally understand on your son. I know it was a hard decision for you but I know that he totally understands how happy that you are. My son told me the other day "Mommy you and Daddy are happier now, you guys don't yell like you used too" that spoke volumes.. they see and understand so much.
Oh and don't worry about the motorcycles, I got into it for her.. she loves to ride and honestly I have had my bike for a year and yet to get it out of the garage. I took the three day defensive riding class and got my motorcyle license that way but I don't have the road time so I don't ride mine, I just ride with her...but I am going to have to bite the bullet and get mine out and master it :)
Hope that you have a wonderful evening... hugs to you both!

I'm glad to hear ex hubby is a good sport!
Sheila and I met at a birthday party for a friend of mine. her friends brought her to get her out of the house.
It really was love at first site. We saw each other from across the room and just walked over to each other and introduced ourselves. We talked and danced until 3;00 a.m. and then she kissed me goodnight. We kept seeing each other for 6 months after that then finally moved in together.
So, we are truly soulmates.
How about you and Debra? How long have you been together?
Hugs,
Laurie

Good morning!!!!
That is awesome on how you and Sheila met!!! Deb and I have known each other for years, she has always come into my shop and we have always been attracted to each other but I was married so neither one of us made an attempt to approach the other one until one day I just had too.... It just hit me like a ton of bricks I had to call her, so I called her office and left a message for her to call me and she did... had no clue why I was calling her, lol... all she knew was that I was married... anyway.. we talked for over an hour that day and we knew then that we had something special and we talked constantly after that... I knew and she knew that we had found our soulmate also the hard part was making it happen and being able to be together but we did... actually we were living together within a month and a half...and have been inseperable since... we have been together for over a year now.. :0).... We both do heating and air and we have our own business that she runs and I work doing sales for a wholesaler so being in the same industry is nice too.. we can squeeze in time during the day sometimes... Do you guys have big plans for the weekend??
Hugs...

Hi Brenda,
Thought I'd chime in here too! It would be GREAT to meet you and Debra sometime when we're on our way to Athens. We'll keep in touch.
You guys will love hanging out in Asheville. It is very gay-friendly and there is so much to do.
Have a great Friday!
Hey there,
I am so glad that you did! Do you guys go to Asheville a lot? I would love to take Deb to the Biltmore and go up there and hang out! That is what our friend in Franklin has told us about Asheville, she is not out to her family so she goes there a lot to be able to be herself. That is one of things that we run into here, we have never had anyone have problems with us and everyone that knows us accepts us as we are but there are really no places to go where you can meet and hang out and not have to drive all the way to Atlanta!!! How often do you guys get to Athens? Have a great Friday!! Did I read correctly that your daughter is having a sleep over birthday party tonight??? What fun!!!! How many do you have coming? I am sorry I am asking lot's of questions...
Brenda
Caly's brother lives in Asheville and it's only a 2-hour drive from Knoxville, so we go over every couple of months or so. There is so much culture there, and the scenery is beautiful. Don't know if you've ever been to Malaprop's bookstore downtown, but it is a really cool place to hang out. They have a little coffee shop too. We like to browse in the art galleries too. In late October we are taking my DD1 (9 yo) to Biltmore. I really like to visit there. Spring and fall are great times to visit because they have festivals going on then. We've considered getting a yearly pass but don't really go often enough to make it worth it.
Anyway, like you guys we don't have many opportunities to be out here, but we have managed to get involved with the lesbian social scene on an occasional basis. We have dances every two months, and there are a couple of social groups that meet weekly. Unfortunately, our schedule is so busy that we don't get to go much. Still, this is a VERY conservative area, so it's hard to be out.
We go to Athens every few months. My parents are world travellers and haven't been home much this summer so we haven't visited as much as we'd like. We will be going down a lot over the next few months for the holidays and such. It's always nice to go back home.
DD's sleepover is tomorrow night. Caly and I are off work today to relax and get ready for the party. Only three girls are coming, which will be plenty! They are all very close--have been friends since kindergarten--and I love seeing her have such a good time with them. It will be fun but nerve-racking for me! I tend to get overwhelmed being around a bunch of giggling pre-teens!
Ask away, it's so great to have you posting and to get to know you better!
:-)
