Hey Caly,
I don't think you're alone on this one. I can't stand the color of pink, well except for one place, that I will leave completely out of this topic ;-)
There are guys that wear pink and they are heterosexual. They have pink ties and pink shirts. But you wouldn't catch me dead wearing anything pink. When I was a little child, I loved the colors red and blue. But I couldn't stand pink.
Why does everything for little girls have to be pink? I don't know, why don't you ask a little girl, or her mom. It's done to all babies so that people can distingush as to whether the newborn is a boy or a girl. You know, blue for boy and pink for girl?
What is feminine? Well, as society has defined feminine vs. masculine is clear. Just because a woman can carry, clean, assemble and fire a weapon in the military, does that make her less of a female? I don't think so. Just because a man can decorate the inside of a home just as well as a woman, does that make him less than a man? I don't think so.
Wearing a label is very confining. And very exclusive. I know, before my transition, that I learned, hands-on, on how to change a tire inside of a mechanic's shop. At the time, did that make me less of a woman? No, I found my mechanical abilities. There are men that don't know how to change a tire, does that make him less than a man? No, he just doesn't know how. I don't think a woman is less than a female if she don't wear pink, and I don't think a man less than a male if he does.
Personally speaking? Unless the clothing I'm wearing has other dark colors, like blue, maroon or any other color and if there's some pink in the clothing? Then I don't mind it too much. But if the tie, the shirt or the pants are pink, I would have issues about it.
Of course, that's just my opinion.
Thanks!
Sebastian

OK, sweetheart, I'll play devil's advocate here--why NOT have a pink soccer ball and cleats?
I agree with you. Although I think it's fine for little girls (or little boys) to wear pink...and it's often a favorite color for little girls...I wish there were other options. What about the girls who don't like pink?? My daughter can't stand pink. She liked it when she was around 3, but that rapidly changed. She's 10 now and it's still hard to find school clothes, sneakers, or even pajamas that aren't pink. And they usually say things like "Glamour Girl", "Shopping Princess", "Diva", etc. That is totally not her. I wish they offered more neutral options. My girls aren't tomboys, but they like blues and greens -- not pinks or purples.

Thanks SB!
I personally don't find that men wearing pink in small amounts is un-masculine, I think its more the 'way' a man wears it.
I agree that pink and blue on small infants can help stem the questions of "is it a boy or a girl?" but once a child reaches toddler age that should be pretty obvious hehehe.
Thanks as always for your insightful reply!

Hi Baby!
I am glad you answered this way and I know we have semi-had this discussion before. I agree that we shouldn't think that girls who are in pink are less of an athlete then those wearing more traditional colors, I guess I just dont see the point of making them in the first place.
Yes Jules! You hit the nail on the head!
C >^. A .
Hehehe its also Really hard to read on a message board!
I guess I'm the total oddball in this discussion. I've never felt like I don't have enough color choices when buying the girls' clothes, and I don't feel societal pressure to buy them pink or risk them not being considered girls. I feel like we have moved past that in a lot of ways. The colors in DDs' closet (both of them) include reds, maroons, tans, blues (DD1's favorite color), greens, black, etc.
Its why we compliment each other so well Baby!
