Christmas must be close!

You know it's almost Christmas when your children suddenly turn into Angels! Yep it's that time of year when the wee ones and the not so wee, start behaving as they should, with hopes that they will get their dream gifts.....I'm laughing because I thought as they grew older they would change. My children are starting early this year talking about what they would like for Christmas. They're doing more chores around the home and spending more time with me. What should a mother feel other than joy? I'm watching my young adults get excited about the possibilities. What's on the wish list? A car, a license, an Ipod, an X-box and many clothes for their work and play. Oh yes, and music galore!

This begs the question that goes unanswered for many moms.....what do you want for Christmas?

My wish list is very simple....I wish that they are smart in choosing the right friends and making the right decisions about who they drive with and how they party over the holidays. Most importantly, I want them to be alive and happy with who they are and love life. For those who don't know, I have a 19 yr old son and a 17 year old daughter, both of which are turning a year older this winter.

What do you look forward to this Christmas season?

Well, Lesli, can I sit on your lap, Ms. Clause? roflmaooooooooo.

What do you look forward to this Christmas season?

Well, normally, I don't even begin talking about Christmas before Thanksgiving, but I'll make an exception this time. I will be looking forward to spending Christmas alone, but who knows things will change. But my friends won't let me be alone on Christmas. I still get excited about Christmas, I guess that will never change, no matter how old I get. But on Christmas Eve, I'll will be singing with the choir and then coming home to peace and serenity. I would love to spend the holiday with my mom, but right now, she's rather unpredictable. Oh well, lol!

Since I have a new home, I will be very excited about decorating it a little or as much as possible. But what I'm looking forward to is giving out my presents. I love seeing the expressions on my friend's faces when they receive their gifts from me.

Unfortunately, some folks will just be getting cards. But, it's the thought behind it, that counts.

Yeah, I know it's early. That's why I'm laughing at how excited they are and were not even through Thanksgiving. Of course my daughter has been extremly excited for over a year now, that she turns 18 in Dec. She's been talking all year about it! lol

Great post, Halo! Sounds like your kids are doing really well. Glad to hear it! For me, I just want peace this holiday season. I need a new car and some money would always be nice, but beyond that I don't really have any material wants. I want us to have some special times with the girls and as a couple, and I want to stay away from the stresses that the holidays bring as much as I can.

I've already bought the girls' Christmas presents. They were pretty easy to buy for this year. We have a pretty small list, so we should be able to keep spending under control.

Hopefully the chaos in our lives right now will subside soon and we can focus on the fun things about the holidays.
