Good Morning!
Let me start off by thanking Soozi for the idea for this week's question. ((((((Tookie)))))
Reading her post about supporting the businesses that support us made me think.
"Would you give up shopping at your FAVORITE store (that had the best prices too) if it really would help the GBLT community secure equal rights?

Lots of good points, mac_dreamy! Very strange about the church supporting a non-supportive author!
I do think having our own personal boycotts can be very empowering. I know it is for me.
I think businesses would suffer greatly if the GLBT community went on a spending strike. The money in our pockets
Sometimes it does take a Rosa Parks to make a huge impact, and I am soooo grateful for all those who have stood up for/are standing up for
Unfortunately, I don't think boycotting any store--unless it was a Mom-and-Pop-type in a small town--would really make a difference.
I have no idea. My parents control my shopping a lot because they have money and I don't. My parents however try not to shop at stores or use companies that openly support equal rights for gay/lesbians. They won't buy a Ford for that reason.

My parents get these things called Action Alerts and follow in like cattle.
Since I don't really have a favorite store . . . .
But, yes, I would boycott a store if I knew it would help a cause I believed in. I am not too sure how effective those boycotts would be, but it would make me feel better.
Hi Caly, sorry I am so late answering this week's QOTW!
Generally speaking, I will not shop at any store that practices discrimination, if I become aware of it. I do think that if enough business is lost, a store owner has to look into why he/she is losing customers and hopefully will correct the cause.
