Caly and I realized today just how crazy December is going to be for us. We've got doctor's appointments, hair appointments, and school events with the kids
With my grandmother out of remission (non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma), and me having what could be a serious illness*, I just don't feel like celebrating this year. And my mother agrees with me on this part: Since my youngest niece and nephew are not going to school, why reward them with gifts? Instead I'm going to donate part of the money I would have spent. We can do all the celebrating we want at my eldest nephew's wedding on June 2, 2007. We will also celebrate my youngest niece's 13th birthday January 1... But only if she starts going to school again... I seriously think she wants to do 6th grade a third time!
I did buy a lighted 2 foot silver holiday tree, and will be decorating it with rainbow colored balls... They were the only cat safe ornaments I could find... At least that's what I told my mother. LOL
* I have been having long term bleeding again (approx. 7 weeks this time)... Uterine biopsy said inflammation and some kind of infection. I'm on antibiotics, and have to go back in 3 weeks for at least 2 more tests... In the meantime, my lower abdomen is extremely swollen/bloated,
I make high end jewlery ( I used to sell it, now I do it for fun & gifts ) so I'm making necklaces for all my girl friends. My Mom & sisters are getting pearls. My brother's 2 kids are getting money, they're at that age where nothing I buy will be 'cool' enough so they can pick they're own.
Somehow, I need to find time for a haircut, doctor's appts., food shopping, and house cleaning, work, and finishing the necklaces. CALGON ... take me away !!!
My grandmother just went from bad to worse... She had a fall tonight, and hit her head. We are hoping that the hospital says that she is too unstable to live by alone, and put her in a nursing home. She not only has cancer, but has suffered with dementia for many years... She gets worse every week.
I am hoping that I feel physically better by the time I am done with the antibiotics (3 more days)... But until then I will probably be sleeping a lot.

What a great talent you have, Birdie! Do you have a web site? I'd love to see your work. It's great that you can give homemade gifts.
I hope your December doesn't turn out to be too stressful. Hugs!
We will be thinking of you and your grandmother, Ginny. Take care of yourself...
Big hugs coming your way!
