Morning All!
Over the weekend, TiNG and I put up the christmas tree and bake cookies and talked ALOT about the holiday traditions in our family. From not having Turkey at Thanksgiving ( K's family) to not opening gifts Christmas morning until After breakfast (my family) just to name a few.

Traditions in my opinion are good. They cultivate a feeling of the season. Traditions give you a reason for coming together. They motivate. Traditions provide a distinction for a family.
On the flip side, I don’t think traditions are necessary though. I feel that anyone can find the joy and graciousness of the season within their hearts no matter where they are or what their life situation is.
If you are alone this holiday season and do not have any traditions to participate in, do not let that dampen your spirit. You are not really alone though it may seem that way. Give of yourself in a way you feel comfortable and you’ll feel the joy of the season. I truly believe that everyone is loved.
Merry Christmas!
YOU ASKED THE WRONG PERSON!!! LOL
I am a history teacher...and it isn't just my job, it is my passion. Traditions have everything to do with family and culture and handing down the past to the present and future generations. My girls LOVE singing to the Christ child as they place him in the manger of straw on Christmas morning,
I think traditions are very important. I treasure the ones my family established and will always treasure the new ones you and I are making together. My family's traditions have varied slightly from year to year depending on the circumstances, but overall we do the same things. They bring lots of meaning to our lives, and I want my kdis to grow up remembering all the special things we do as a family.
Thanks Dreamy for those special thoughts.
You are right that traditions, while being wonderful, aren't the only thing that makes the Holidays memorable.
Hi Michelle!
I am glad that you are able to share something special with your son.
