Morning All!

Over the weekend, TiNG and I put up the christmas tree and bake cookies and talked ALOT about the holiday traditions in our family. From not having Turkey at Thanksgiving ( K's family) to not opening gifts Christmas morning until After breakfast (my family) just to name a few.

Traditions are very important to me; I feel like they're all I've got tying me to my family.

I think traditions are important, especially at the holidays. But I know our family's traditions have evolved over the years and changed somewhat with the circumstances. And I think it is important to have that kind of flexibility, too.

Thanks Becky,

I think traditions can be evolving too. Life is always changing and sometimes the 'old ways' dont fit anymore. What gets hard is when one member of the family (speaking of my mother) isnt open to change.

Traditions are extremely important. They make life memories that carry on generation to generation. Our Christmas tradition was always a blind fold adventure holding hands with my sisters and brother down the stairs past the Christmas tree out to the car to pick Grandma up. Back to the house and then the blindfold unveiling. It happens to be the best memory of our childhood that we all hold onto. For my children it worked for a while and then we made new traditions. Always a letter to Jesus wishing him a happy birthday went into each stocking. Baby Jesus is added to the manger after midnight Christmas Eve.

"How important do you think Traditions really are?"

Sorry I am so late answering this week! Traditions shape what we do as adults, at least if we have good memories/connections to past traditions. As we get older and circumstances change...family members

I do think traditions (and understanding them) are important.
