Good Morning Everyone!

Tomorrow is Mardi Gras and I was poking around the web and discovered that Mardi Gras has quite a Pagan background and includes some rather 'ribald' activities in it celebration. Yet its widely accepted, where as Pride gets nothing but bad Press.

This week's question.

I really don't Mardi Gras. The lenten season was more important, not the pre-lent party.

To me it is just a fun party. If I was there I would participate. It looks like alot of fun. I have celibrated many holidays with friends of different nationalities and religions and they mine. I like to keep an open mind. But then again, I am a curious person and love to experience different things.

Oh to be in New Orleans on Mardi Gras!! To just let loose and let my hair down and drop all my... oh sorry lol! To dance in the street for an entire week and drink until I see little green monsters roflol!

Of course, I would of course gladly come home and be smiling from ear to ear ;-)

But, since I can only enjoy the spiritual aspects of Lent, I can only look forward to some changes and improvements, but there's nothing sad about changes and improvements, there's joy and revelry in that also!

Thanks,

Sebastian

Hugs,

Sebastian

I've always thought it would be great fun to be in New Orleans for Mardi Gras.

I'm not sure of my feelings about Mardi Gras.

Well I have never really looked into what it means, but I have never celebrated. But I would think that if I was still in my early 20's and was down in New Orleans I bet I would have a few drinks and some beads :)

I would not be likely to participate in the Mardi Gras celebration -- not because of any objection to its Pagan background, but just because of my general dislike for crowds, and especially crowds of drunken people!

I didn't know about the party side of this day until I was all grown up. lol

My upbringing focused on Ash Wednesday and Lent, followed by celebrating Easter Sunday.
