Well I got lots of great feedback about discussing some of the day to day issues we face as lesbians so I am looking forward to this weekly thread.

And, since we had

Thanks, its really nice to have a place wear the gay community talk about real issues and share stories. Im actually from toronto, here people are really open that that sort of thing, we've never had a problem with the public, everyone is really nice. I believe that when your in love you don't need to hide it. Im not being rude I just love my girlfriend, and I want to be able to express those feeling whenever I chose to. Of course were not rude, nore do we flaunt it.

Take Care

Court and I hold hands in public all the time. The only place where we don't is at the college; even though everyone knows we are married, even my boss knows. It's just not appropriate at the workplace.

We get a glare every now and again, but it's not as bad as you might think, considering where we live.

Eastie! How are you? We were up near your part of the world for a lesbian bloggers meet-n-greet last month. Tons of fun. Got to see Tookie there too.

I am impressed considering where you live, but it also proves my point that while there is a large faction of people who are adamantly against gays, most people truly are of the live and let live variety. Our problems is we can't get them to stand up to the naysayers when it comes time to vote.

I have found that a lot of them ARE standing up. It was so gratifying when we were working on the "Vote No" campaign (to defeat a constitutional ban on same-sex marriage) to meet so many heterosexuals, and people of faith no less, who were working just as hard or harder to defeat the amendment. That experience did a lot to restore my faith in people.

Hi Kim, it's good to see you.

As I've grown up being gender different, I know that there are people in my corner that believe that discrimnation is wrong. Just because a person is either blinded by religion, or any other exclusionary tactic, that doesn't mean that the entire world believes the same thing.

During the many marches I've participated in, I have come across a lot of folk that stand for gender different folk. I think it was Pflag or some other organization. At first, when they held up their signs, I thought it was filled with hate slogans. It wasn't until I read them, that I realized that they were on our side. Then I relaxed and realized that there are groups of people that accept me and support me.

I'm not resting on my laurels, I'm working towards change in my church. Change is coming for everyone.

Thanks and hugs,

Sebastian

Hey Prof! ((HUGS&SMILE))

I wish you drop me a note. I would have love to meet you and your love!
There's such a thing as a blogger meet and greet??? *l*
How was it? what would you talk about at these meetings? Do you bring your computer to type in your blog to talk with each other? ;-)

Hahahaha! Very funny. We had plenty to talk about. And I of course got to play with Tookie's and TommyGirl's lovely little cutiepuss, Emma! Actually, we were in CT, so we were close to you *relatively* speaking.
