LOL our Summertime doesn't happen until the last weekend in March. Apparently Britain was the first to implement Daylight Savings Time, ostensibly to save on candles-though apparently it was Benjamin Franklin who first suggested it in 1784!

Personally, I don't really like it. It confuses the horses, who expect their feed at the same time every day, and are very upset for weeks after the change. It confuses me too! There are groups lobbying to stop the changes happening, but so far they've had limited success. A Bill was put in front of Parliament for the UK to follow Central European time all year round (GMT +1hr) for a trial period of three years, to allow for brighter evenings, but this has so far been opposed by the Government. In part on the grounds that in parts of Scotland, it would mean sunrise at or after 10am during winter.

Hugs,

Chris

I have really been having to drag myself out of bed these mornings -- getting up in the dark is really hard for me. But I am really enjoying the extra hour of daylight in the evenings, so it is sort of worth it.

I love daylight savings time! More gardening evenings, super long days.

These few weeks between US and UK's time switch feel strange though. I'm even a hour further away from home.

Come on, summer!!!!
