Hey all.

Last week we talked about Gaydar and how you can pick out someone who is gay.

It's hard to tell what others are thinking, and I think you just have to read situations and people very carefully. Trust your instincts and comfort level and I'm sure you will sort this out.

Take care.

As I said below, Annie, you are SO lucky to live in such an accepting community. And good for you for not hiding it!

Cool, Laurie! It's great when you can have such good relationships with your neighbors. They can be so helpful in many ways, and sometimes you can develop great relationships. I hope we'll have that someday.

Good for you for standing up for who you are, Sebastian! Nosy neighbors are not fun. I'm glad you live in a more accepting place now.

It's wonderful when things fall into place and people just sort of figure it out on their own. Like I think I said before, I'm sure people in our apartment building know or suspect that we are partners. We're always together. I would have been a bit miffed about a coworker asking someone else about me, but maybe they just felt awkward about it. Around my workplace, there are rumor mills and lots of gossip that goes around. I have no idea what people think about me. If they figure it out, great, if not that's ok too.

I'm glad you have had a positive experience so far.

You made a lot of great points, Celia. I especially like the one about not totally defining yourself as a lesbian. Caly and I have discussed this before, and I know it applies to me too. When I realized that I wanted to be with a woman, I didn't make a dramatic change in my personality, how I acted at work, performed my work, or related to others. I think that's important and something a lot of people don't think about. My exILs thought I went completely crazy, but I think they are slowly realizing that I'm the same person inside and outside.

Thanks for replying!

Ughhh on the "that's a shame comment". I can be pretty femme too, so I don't think most people suspect. I think a lot of them would say "I can see that" though if they found out because I do have my days when I'm not so femme.

You must be quite the looker, Cat! Too funny about your cousin! I never thought of using that one. When we got pictures taken last summer of me, Caly, my DDs, and Jordan, the photographer referred to us as sisters and the kids as cousins. We were so taken off guard that we didn't say anything.

Our friends and neighbours know, but there were little moments that make me smile looking back.
