Would You Ever?

I'm a bisexual woman. 19 years old, silly, funny lively and positive. I've gone on countless message boards even watched t.v. shows where lesbians said they would never date a bisexual woman.... They would however befriend one. As a few of you may have read my other posts where i've gone to say that i've never went to lesbian bars or clubs. It pisses me off to GUESS that lesbians would look at bisexuals as a "warning sign". I don't know how true it is but maybe you lesbians can clear this up....WHY DON'T LESBIANS DATE BISEXUAL WOMEN?

This is a good question. Many of us are still searching for who we are. I never thought of myself as being a lesbian or that I could have a relationship with another woman until I met my present girlfriend. After being friends for a long time, I kind of fell in love with her. She just happened to be female. Prior to my relationship with her, I had always had relationships with men. So I am not sure whether I am lez, bi, or a straight woman who just happens to love another woman. Am I making any sense here?

For Danielle and I, things just seemed to fall into place. I guess I had to get over my intial inhibitions about having a physical relationship, but everything just seemed so right. I suppose that is how love is supposed to be, right?

Thank you. I have been doing the lesbian relations message board for a long time, but I saw a notice for poetry that someone left listing this message board, so I thought I would check it out.

Thanks, Sarah. Sorry I didn't get back sooner. I had a ball game to umpire, went out to a bar, and then my laptop wouldn't connect with our wireless.

What were you umpiring, baseball or softball? I played softball last night, before lighting came along the end out game in the fourth inning. We were up 4-2. I play in a league affiliated with a nearby college. Mostly women from the ages of 23 to 35.

Hey, Sarah, I was umping a high school softball game Friday afternoon. Saturday I was at a local college. I do mostly high school and D-2, D-3 colleges. In the fall, I do some Big East games, D-1, but I cannot get away from my job to travel to UConn, and Syracuse, etc. In the spring and summer, I do a lot of club games and tournaments.
I do a smattering of boys Little League in the spring and tournaments in the summer, as I consider this part of my community service.

This is my passion and I have probably been doing it much longer than you have been alive! I never tell anybody on the field that, because you know in a heated moment they will ask why you haven't gotten any better after all these year. :)

The best line I ever got was at a district playoff game for high school and I had called about 5 really close plays in a row. There was sort of a quiet in the crowd when a man called out very clearly and said, "Lady, if you was a horse, we woulda shot you." Even I had to laugh.

You can imagine that I have been called every derogatory name in the book and there have been more that one reference to my sexuality. I feel like I have pioneered for those who have come after me. I always do girls games U-12 and up, so that they can see competent (at least I think I am) women in positions of power and see that you can endure adversity with aplomb. I always handle myself professionally, with quiet confidence.

What position do you play? It would be fun to umpire your games. I would even do it for just beer money or nothing. :) :)

There are hardly any women umpires. You should think about it.

We need more people like you to provide role models for other young women. If we had more people like you, people would begin to accept the idea that women can do anything that men can do. And, in most cases, do the job better. Thanks for your courage and leadership in this area!
How can girls believe that anything is possible when there are not enough women showing that anything is possible through their leadership? I hate to sound like some sort of feminist, but it is time to break up the good ole boys club. Women can do anything that men can do. All we need is to be given a chance.
I play shortstop and occasionally catch. I have a pretty good arm and I swing the bat pretty well. I have been playing since I was about eight. Later this month, I will celebrate my 22nd birthday, so I have been in the game for about 14 years. I played high school ball and I played college ball. I was not the best player in college, but I had a lot of fun with it. Now I play in a women’s league. I am the youngest player in the league. The league consists of women from around 23 up to 35. I love softball.
Perhaps I will umpire games when I am done playing. A person cannot go on playing forever, but through umpiring, I could still remain around the game.
I am in my first year as a school teacher. I graduated from college in August of last year. My intention is to continue my education beginning next fall.
