Hi again! Thanks for all of your wonderful advice and thoughts on my first blog here at iVillage. I appreciate it! So, my next question for you : Can lesbians have regular lifes, just with partners, not husbands? Kids, big houses, good jobs? Hmm...

Well of course they can!
HI Again!
SO glad your first experience here was a good one and that you are posting again.
Of course! But, I understand your question because I had a long period of wondering that when I was a teenager. My partner and I have a very "normal" life, whatever that is. We both work and go to school. We have good jobs, we make good money and have great benefits. Our place of work recognizes our relationship and extends benefits to domestic partners. We own a home that we plan to sell in the next year or so because we want to start our family. We have 2 dogs and 2 cats. We host Thanksgiving and Xmas dinner every year. It makes me laugh because all of our friends......married, single, gay and straight see us as the standard of a good solid healthy relationship. We are the ruler they measure against, how's that for a change? A gay marriage being the ruler of normal in this society?
Your life can be what you want it to be, what you make it. Don't be afraid that you can't have everything you want because you are a lesbian. I used to have that fear, and I was so wrong. My life is everything I ever wanted, and then some.

We plan to move to a larger house someday.
We feel like we have a normal life. We are happy. We have been together for 10 years now and we just feel "normal".

Than again the answer might be no, if you want a small house with big dogs living in a log cabin up in NH. *Smile*
