Okay, all. After reading in one of the threads about lucky bamboo plants, I bought one today. How do I keep from killing it?

There are products like Bitter Apple that you can buy and spray on the leaves though I understand that cats don't like a strong citrus smell so perhaps put a bowl of cut lemons next to the plant for awhile. You can also stick whole cloves in an orange and that makes a pretty pomander you can put on the shelf.
Just some ideas

Since I don't have any Bitter Apple and I have no idea what a "pretty pomander" is, I will try the lemon trick. Thank you :)

You are absolutely right about who rules the roost with a cat in the house. My two cats, that are really not my cats, pretty much own the place. All cat owners out there, you know the story.
My dog is always around for attention, "please love me, please love me. Look, I have a toy! Let's go out! I love you soooo much." :)
On the other hand the cat is "Yeah, like whatever. You know, just sit down so I can curl up on you and purr. You'll think that we are bonding. When I am through with you, see ya. Where is my food? Okay, okay, I'll TELL you you are the best. Does that make you happy?"
I really do love my cats, though. I am well trained. **looking for the cat treats***

there was once a little pomander who turns pretty after eating the bitter apple. There's only up once you ate bitterness. ;-)
Rogue, Rogue, Rogue......I am all over that.
