Greek societies....

Hello ladies,

I thought I would start a discussion about greek societies. Since I've never been a member of a greek society, I've often wondered about the mysterious goings on. We've seen stories in the news about greek societies and the negativity that they can sometimes get mixed up in.

I would like to focus on the positive aspects about a greek society. If you've ever been a member of a sororiety, what was it like? I can remember as small kid the fraternity that my brother became a part of. It was interesting to see the somewhat ridiculus things he had to do, what happened when he broke a rule as a pledge. But I was also impressed by the uniformity of his fraternity.

If we as a community had a sorority/fraternity, what would be the rules of conduct? What would be the rights of passage? What would be a part of initation to show the sincerity of the applicant? What positive things would be a requirement to maintain the applicants participation? And finally, what kind of ceremony would be held for the applicants that have passed the initation (I know all ceremonies are private, but what kind? Meaning the color of the clothes, what kind of insignia, or emblems?)

Thanks and have fun ladies. I'll be back with my opinions, thoughts and comments.

Sebastian

Hugs,

Sebastian

Being a Turtle is a special thing....I'm not sure providing these ladies with too much information is the correct thing to do.

You know about Turtles? You never told me...
What the... I never heard of such a thing.
So, you are a Turtle too? Is this for real? It sounds like a joke.
How did you get color on a Mac?

And you know the proper response? Okay, maybe don't answer until all of the questions have been asked. Glad to know another turtle!

Perhaps you are right. I will back off here and wait until we ever meet in person. Anybody ever up Philly way, shoot me an email to meet for coffee, drinks, or food and we can get busy on getting more turtles.
