Welcome back, Mom! Can't understand how all those poles got there. Most of the water should be cleaned up, also. The t-shirts hanging on the back line because we all got so hot and needed a change of clothes. ;) I watched carefully and things were just smooth. Cat, Storm, Laurie, halo, Sebastian, Rogue, and anybody else we could drag along just dropped by for a couple of Cokes and some pretzels. We brought Rowan also. She sort of guarded us.....well, maybe not that well. We learned new games, you know, harmless ones like Seven Minutes in Heaven, lap dancing(whatver THAT is) and played some other party games.
Anyway, I missed you and can see breifly that your trip was grand. Congrats on mom.
Welcome back! Glad to hear you had such a good time. I hope to hear more about it. Sorry about the poles, to hung ov... uh, tired to pick them up. We did have some good discussions I hope you enjoy them too. Looking forward to hearing more about your trip. Hi to ting. Hugs, Laurie

THANK YOU SO MUCH, Heather, for filling in for us! I'm so glad you joined in the discussions. You have a lot of great input and are so supportive. Let us know if we can ever help you!
It's sooooo good to be home, although I don't want vacation to end! LOL We had a terrific time, and while we were on the go a lot, it was fun and we saw a lot of neat things. Caly's hometown is awesome. Her parents live down the street from the village in a beautiful house. It's a "white picket fence" kind of town - a great place to raise a family, and it's only an hour away from NYC. I can see now why it is such a desirable area and the COL is so high. I didn't realize what an idyllic place it was. Her parents were quite welcoming and we had lots of great conversations, although I think her mother was puzzled with me because I'm relatively quiet and was raised in the south where you keep your opinions to yourself! She and Caly's dad were very gracious, and it was great to see the house she grew up in.
The highlight of NYC for me was going up to the 69th floor (or maybe it was 67th) of Rockefeller Plaza and viewing the city from three observation decks. The Empire State Building was on one side and Central Park was on the other. The views were amazing. Walking through Greenwich Village was very cool, and eating lunch at Chelsea Market, where the Food Network is headquartered, was exciting as well. I was hoping I'd catch a glimpse of Rachael Ray, but no such luck! I enjoyed The Natural History Museum and highly recommend the planetarium show. The city is SO big and overwhelming that it's just not possible to see as much as we wanted to see in two days. We'll go back one day and spend more time hopefully.
