Just wanted to say that I'm not ignoring any of you! I haven't been able to respond to posts as quickly as I'd like. I really could make this a full-time job with all the other boards I visit too! I'll be working my way through the posts in the next couple of days.

THANK YOU so much for making this such a rockin' board. Love you all!

Can’t you play along with a gal? *grin* That was suppose to get T to smile. *smile*
Well, don’t hug too tightly or else I might faint without air. *l*

I'll bet our DDs would get along really well! I was never very social as a child, but my DD has lots of good friends. It's been fun and interesting to watch her navigate all the relationships at this age. And they are all so dramatic - best friends one day and enemies the next.

I'm sure they would. Does she like hannah montana, high school musical, cheetah girls?

The drama is rediculous some days. My dd takes everything said to heart. One minute she says she has no friends then the next they're playing together. oy vie!1!!1
It is good to watch like you said. As a young child I was very shy and didnt have alot of friends. I am still terrible in a large group. So glad to know mine are much more out-going. :>

It does feel good to know that mine are outgoing. My oldest has good intuition about friendships and can hold her own throughout the drama. Not sure about DD2 yet. She's 5.5 and her personality has just started blossoming. She lives in her own little world sometimes

I tried the cool mom gig for awhile, but it didn't last. It's good until about 8th grade and then you(the mom) get stupid and have never lived or done ANYTHING, OMG!!!! When I was in my umpire's uniform (very sexy for those out there who like women in uniform, lol), she told me to never get out of the car with her friends around. Broke my heart. Now, she thinks it's fine.

The dancing is outrageous. The girls get into a little circle and sort of fast dance. Then the boys come up behind them and put their hands on their hips and pull in them in--sort of like what the pole dancing degenerated into. Fine for adults, but kids? It is all they see on MTV, etc. Seems normal and natural to them, although they break up real fast when a teacher moves.

Good luck with the next 10 years. I'll be right here when you need me.

Hugs

Sounds like you're in better spirits today? Glad to hear it in your messages. You had me worried a bit the other day. ((HUGS))

I'm already having to monitor what DD watches. She likes a couple of the raunchy reality shows on CMT and MTV, and I've got to step in and say no more. Our cable line-up is changing and we won't have CMT for much longer. I'd just as soon get rid of MTV too. No wonder so many young kids are having sex. It scares the heck out of me.

I'm glad you are here to help us navigate everything.

Hugs

I am happy to navigate this in return for all that you have done for me. As in my situation, there is not going to be any right answer in yours with DD. Ah, life, what an adventure. Cross your fingers, grab the rails and hold on for the ride. It's gonna rock you!
Let me give you a brief description: Say you tell your DD that you did drugs when you were a kid, just experimenting. DD will throw that in your face with, "You did it, so you have nothing to say to me. I'm just following your example." Let's say you never did an illegal substance in your life. Then DD says, "You have no idea, mom. You were just a goody-goody and you don't understand how this is. ALL my friends do it and so do/did their parents. It's only a little weed, for god's sake, it's not a big deal. It's even legal in some states. What's your problem?" Oh, yeah, this will be the ride of your life!
This is a no win situation and I thought it woud be so easy to just lead by example.

I'll be waiting for you and hoping that you never need a navigator.

Sex Ed starts next week, but the way. Whoa, talk about a ride of life!!!

Hugs

Blue
